This category captures the core student demographic records and contains identifying student information. The Student Demographics category includes the following data views and resources:
Student Demographics
The Published view captures the core student demographic record and contains identifying information as published in the Student entity within the Student interchange. For each student enrolled in the district in the current year, the layout provides the School Name, Student Number, Student Name, Gender, Grade Level, SAIS Number, Last Published Date, and the Publishing ID.
LEAs and Schools can also review pending and published Ed-Fi reporting data for individual students from the student AzEDS Publishing page, accessed from Students, State Province - AZ, AzEDS Publishing.
Student
This entity represents an individual for whom instruction, services, and/or care are provided in an early childhood, elementary, or secondary educational program under the jurisdiction of a school, education agency, or other institution or program. A student is a person who has been enrolled in a school or other educational institution.

Selection Criteria
Records are published if the following criteria are met:
StudentUniqueId must be populated in PowerSchool.
The student must not be excluded from state reporting.
The student's school of enrollment must not be excluded from state reporting.
The student must have at least one school enrollment with an Entry Date that falls within the date range defined by [Terms]FirstDay and [Terms]LastDay for the year of the Term selected in the PowerSchool UI.
Entity Output
A single Student record is published for each student enrolled in the district in the year for the Term selected in the PowerSchool UI.
Additional student identifiers including local student number and SSN are also output in the StudentIdentificationCode complex type.
The Student entity is not dependent on the prior publishing of other Ed-Fi entities.
Note: After a Student record is uploaded, it cannot be modified until a StudentSchoolAssociation record in the Student Enrollment interchange has also been uploaded for the same student.
This establishes a relationship between the school, the associated LEA and the student.
The LEA then has permission to modify the previously uploaded Student record.
LEAs and Schools may upload (publish) data to the ODS in real time or on demand ("Run Now" button).

SAIS Student Number Status
This view does not have a corresponding Ed-Fi entity, but captures the current status of Student Unique IDs. Whenever student data are published to the state ODS, the Ed-Fi process checks for the presence of a Student Unique ID, and automatically requests a new ID for any student who is missing one.
For each student enrolled in the district in the current year, the layout provides the School Name, Student Number, Student Name, Gender, Grade Level, SAIS Student Number, Status, Last Published Date, and the Publishing ID. The SAIS Student Number Status column displays one of the following: Unassigned, Still Requesting, or the SAIS Student Number for IDs that have been assigned.
Students Missing Contacts
This view does not have a corresponding Ed-Fi entity, but provides a detailed list of students who do not have at least one student contact published to the AzEDS. Each student is required to have at least one student contact defined in PowerSchool and published to the AzEDS. For each student on the list enter the student contact information in PowerSchool.
For each student with at least one missing contact, the layout provides the Student Number, Student Name, Grade Level, SAIS Student Number, Status, Last Publish Date, and the Publishing ID.
