AZ AzEDS - Student Program: 2020-2021 SPED and Support Program Changes

The following changes are implemented to support 2020-2021 SPED and Support publishing changes:

• Added a new field on the Student SPED Needs New/Edit screen to collect 'Responsible Entity' (Defaults to student's school entity if blank)

• Student Program publishing will report a new resource: "StudentEducationOrganizationResponsibilityAssociation" when publishing SPED programs for 2020-2021 school year onwards.

• Support Program Name Changes for Publishing:21st Century Community Learning Centers Cycle 15 - New > 21st Century Community Learning Centers Year 1 - New21st Century Community Learning Centers Cont-Yr2 > 21st CCLC Yr 221st Century Community Learning Centers Cont-Yr3 > 21st CCLC Yr 321st Century Community Learning Centers Cont-Yr4 > 21st CCLC Yr 421st Century Community Learning Centers Cont-Yr5 > 21st CCLC Yr 5

• SPED Program Name Change for Publishing:H Homebased/ Homebound / Hospital Program > H Home Placement / Hospital Program

Action Item: Update student SPED Program Records to have the correct Responsible Entity for applicable students. (The regular school the student would have attended if there are no SPED needs.)

AzEDS English Learner Program Changes for 2020-2021

When accessing the State/Province - AZ Student Page and selecting the 013 - English Learners program pages for the 2020-2021 school year, the flowing changes are implemented.
The following new programs are available for selection for 20-21 school year forward:

• A1 Structured English Immersion (SEI) Pull-Out Model

• A5 50-50 Dual Language Immersion (DLI) Model

The following existing programs are no longer available for selection for 20-21 school year forward:

• A3 Structured English Immersion (SEI) 3-Hour Model

• IP Individual Language Learner Plan (ILLP)

The following existing programs are renamed as follows:

• A2 Structured English Immersion (SEI) 2-Hour Model > A2 Structured English Immersion (SEI) Two-Hour Model

• A4 Structured English Immersion (SEI) 4-Hour Model > A4 Structured English Immersion (SEI) Newcomer Model

• B1 Bilingual/Dual Language with Waiver 1 > B1 Bilingual with Waiver 1

• B2 Bilingual/Dual Language with Waiver 2 > B2 Bilingual with Waiver 2

• B3 Bilingual/Dual Language with Waiver 3 > B3 Bilingual with Waiver 3

• PW Parent Withdrawn ELL > PW Parent Withdrawn EL

AzEDS Student Program publishing is updated to report the updated and new program names for the 20-21 school year forward.

Note: The ReEnroll in Student Needs will roll the deprecated student program records forward into the 20-21 school year. A new program will need to be selected in the 20-21 school year for students participating in the A3 and IP programs in the 2019-2020 school year.

AzEDS Student Transcript Updated to Publish with Leading and Trailing 0 for Credit Elements

The AzEDS Student Transcripts resource is updated to publish all course transcript records (final grades) with earnedCredit and attemptedCredit values with leading and trailing zeros after and before the decimal point.
Example: If attemtedCredit/earnedCredit equals .23, 1 or .5 for storedGrades the updated logic will publish the value as "0.23", "1.0" or "0.5" respectively.
Note: It is recommended to republish Student Transcripts (Publish All) at all high schools after installation of State Reporting version SR_20.7.1.
