Download SAIS IDs

After initial enrollment transactions are submitted to ADE at the beginning of the school year, download the SAIS IDs generated by SAIS for all students enrolled in the school.

To download SAIS IDs:

1. Log on to the SAIS User Interface.
2. Click Student Detail Data Interchange (SDDI). The SDDI School Selection page appears.
3. Select a school to work with from the pop-up menu.
4. Click Download Area. The Student Detail Download Area page appears.
5. Confirm that the Fiscal Year field displays the correct fiscal year.
6. Click either "Get Student Ids" or "Get Student IDs with CTDS" if you want to sort the students by school. Click "Get Student IDs with CTDS" if you are downloading students from the district office level.
7. Narrow the search of students or download IDs for all students.
8. To use the Import SAIS ID's function in PowerSchool, select the XML file to download.

Troubleshooting Import of SAIS Student IDs

When importing SAIS student IDs, the following error message may occur:

No valid student numbers were found in the import file

Follow the steps below to resolve this issue:

1. Download the SAIS student ID file from ADE.
2. Open the file in a text editor, such as Notepad or TextEdit.
3. Perform a "Find and Replace" in the file as follows:
   Find: SAIS_ID 
   Replace with: StudentID
4. Save the changes.
5. Import the file into PowerSchool via Start Page > Special Functions > Interfaces to other systems > SAIS > Import SAIS Student IDs.
