Preparing for HTTPS

To use HTTPS, you'll need:

  1. A digital certificate.  You have two choices for obtaining a certificate: establish your own Certificate Authority with software available from Microsoft, Netscape, and others; or purchase a signed certificate from a third-party CA such as VeriSign.
  2. The Zone Integration Server's digital certificate. You'll import this certificate into the Agent's "truststore"—a file that keeps track of the certificates the Agent will trust when establishing connections to Zone Integration Servers.

In addition, when using Client Authentication the Zone Integration Server will need a copy of the PowerSchool Agent's certificate as well so that it can trust the Agent. Consult your ZIS documentation for instructions on setting up HTTPS at the Zone Integration Server.
