Introduction

Use this report option to validate the data entered on the Correct page of the Illinois State Information page, Start Page > Student Selection > Illinois State Information > ISBE SIS Assessment Correction Information. This report populates the virtual table and creates a link to the Correction.html report.

Selection Criteria

Selection criteria determine which database records are used in the report. Refer to selection criteria for analysis when the report does not return the correct records.

For the Correction Validation report, student records are selected.

School Selection

The report selects which school records to use based on the following criteria:

  • The school must be associated with a student included in the report.

Student Selection

The report selects which student records to use based on the following criteria:

  • The student is assigned an ISBE SIS state student ID number.
  • The Student Tested field is not blank for the student.

Use

If run at the district level, choose one of the following from the pop-up menu:

  • Default – District Wide. Includes all records on the PowerSchool server that meet selection criteria.
  • Current School Only – Includes all records associated with the current school that meet the selection criteria.
  • District Wide – Includes all records on the PowerSchool server that meet the selection criteria.

If run at the school level, the report includes all records associated with the current school that meet the selection criteria. To change the current school, click School at the top of the page and choose the appropriate school from the list.

Students to Include

Indicate which students to include in the report by selecting one of the following options:

  • The selected [number] students only – Run the report for students in the current selection.
  • All students – Run the report for all students in the current school or district that meet the selection criteria.

Note: If running the report for a single student, or group of students, select the students prior to runningreport.

Processing Options

Choose a time to run the report from the pop-up menu:

  • In Background Now (Recommended) – Execute the report immediately in the background.
  • ASAP – Execute the report in the order it is received in the Report Queue.
  • At Night – Execute the report during the next evening.
  • On Weekend – Execute the report during the next weekend.
  • On Specific Time – Execute the report on the date and time specified.

Specific Date/Time

Enter a date using the format mm/dd/yyyyor mm-dd-yyyyin order to run the report on a specific day. The incorrect format displays an alert and the date field is submitted as a blank entry.

Use the pop-up menus to schedule the report to be run at a specific hour and minute.

Example: 7/29/2011 @ 10:05 AM.

Select District

(Optional) If this option appears, select the District for which to run the report.

Each of the fields displayed in the output of the report are described below. See Understanding the Report Output Table for a definition of each column in the table.

Student’s Name

This field contains the student’s full name. Student Tested

This field contains the assessment action entered for this student, either 01 for Tested or 02 for Not tested. This field is extracted from the Correct tab of the Illinois State Information page, Start Page > Student Selection > Illinois State Information > ISBE SIS Assessment Correction Information.

If the Assessment Action field is left blank, the student record is not included on the report.

Non Participation Reason

This field contains the reason the student did not participate in the test, if the Assessment Action (Student Tested) field is set to 02 (not tested) for this student. This field is extracted from the Correct tab of the Illinois State Information page, Start Page > Student Selection > Illinois State Information > ISBE SIS Assessment Correction Information.

This field is blank if the Assessment Action field is 01 (Tested).

State Student Number

This field contains the student identification code assigned to each student in your district by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE). This field should be blank for all students upon first submission of the Student.

This field is extracted from the Demo tab of the Illinois State Information page, Start Page > Student Selection > Illinois State Information > ISBE SIS Student Demographic/Enrollment Information.

Student Number

This field contains the PowerSchool student identification code. This field is extracted from the Correct tab of the Illinois State Information page, Start Page > Student Selection > Illinois State Information > ISBE SIS Assessment Correction Information.

If this field is blank, the PowerSchool Student Number entered on the ISBE SIS Student Demographic/ Enrollment Information page is used.

Legal Last Name

This field contains the legal last name of the student. This field is extracted from the Correct tab of the Illinois State Information page, Start Page > Student Selection > Illinois State Information > ISBE SIS Assessment Correction Information.

If the Legal Last Name field is left blank, the student’s last name entered on the ISBE SIS Student Demographic/ Enrollment Information page is used in this field.

Legal First Name

Date of Birth

If the Birth Date field is left blank, the student’s birth date entered on the ISBE SIS Student Demographic/ Enrollment Information page is used in this field.

Race/Ethnicity Code

This field contains the student’s ethnicity. This field is extracted from the Correct tab of the Illinois State Information page, Start Page > Student Selection > Illinois State Information > ISBE SIS Assessment Correction Information.

If the Race/Ethnicity Code field is left blank, the student’s ethnicity entered on the ISBE SIS Student Demographic/ Enrollment Information page is used in this field.

Gender

01 in this field indicates that the student is a participant in a Limited English Proficiency program. The number 02 in this field indicates that the student is not a participant in a Limited English Proficiency program.

IEP

01 in this field indicates that the student has an individualized education plan (IEP). The number 02 in this field indicates that the student does not have an IEP.

01 in this field indicates that the student is from a low-income family. The number 02 in this field indicates that the student is not from a low-income family.

Century 21

01 in this field indicates that the student is participating in the 21st Century Community Learning Centers program (After School Program). The number 02 in this field indicates that the student is not participating in the 21st Century Community Learning Centers program.

RCDTS Home School

This field contains the Region, County, District, Type, School (RCDTS) code which uniquely identifies the student’s home school. This field is extracted from the Correct tab of the Illinois State Information page, Start Page > Student Selection > Illinois State Information > ISBE SIS Assessment Correction Information.

If left blank, the RCDTS Home School entered on the Edit School page is used in the report.

RCDTS Serving School

This field contains the Region, County, District, Type, School (RCDTS) code which uniquely identifies the student’s serving school. This field is extracted from the Correct tab of the Illinois State Information page, Start Page > Student Selection > Illinois State Information > ISBE SIS Assessment Correction Information.

If left blank, the RCDTS Serving School entered on the Edit School page is used in the report.

RCDTS Testing School

This field contains the Region, County, District, Type, School (RCDTS) code identifying where a student who is in a tested grade is taking a state assessment during the current school year. This field is extracted from the Correct tab of the Illinois State Information page, Start Page > Student Selection > Illinois State Information > ISBE SIS Assessment Correction Information.

Grade Level at Time of Testing

This field contains the student’s grade classification at the time of testing on a state assessment during the current school year. This field is extracted from the Correct tab of the Illinois State Information page, Start Page > Student Selection > Illinois State Information > ISBE SIS Assessment Correction Information.

If this field is left blank on the ISBE SIS Assessment Correction Information page, this field contains the grade level entered on the Edit Current Enrollment page for this student.

First Year US

This field identifies the amount of time a student has been in the United States.

Yes displays if the First Year in United States field on the Pre-ID tab is set to Yes—Student in US less than a year (01).

No displays if the First Year in United States field on the Pre-ID tab is set to No—Student in the US for more than a year (02).

This field is extracted from the Correct tab of the Illinois State Information page, Start Page > Student Selection > Illinois State Information > ISBE SIS Assessment Correction Information.

TBE TPI Year

If applicable, this field contains the year a student enrolled in a state-approved Transitional Bilingual Education (TBE) program or Transitional Program of Instruction (TPI), counting this school year as the most recent year (excluding Pre-K and K). This field is extracted from the Correct tab of the Illinois State Information page, Start Page > Student Selection > Illinois State Information > ISBE SIS Assessment Correction Information.

If left blank, this field defaults to 07 – Not in TPE/TBI program.

If left blank, this field defaults to 03 – Not in TPE/TBI program.
