OnSIS Verification Summary - Section A

Section A - Courses for Grades 9 to 12

The Section A (Courses for Grades 9 to 12 Summary) report shows aggregate course counts for secondary students in Grades 9 to 12. The report groups results by course and splits totals into English and French columns. The reports print in alphabetical order, Section A, Section B, Section C1, and so on. The report is generated for the October, March, and June submission periods.

Selection Criteria

Selection criteria determine which database records are used in the report. Refer to the selection criteria for analysis when the report does not return the correct records.

School Selection

• The report applies to Secondary schools only.

• Schools must not be Excluded From State Reporting, i.e., [Schools]State_ExcludeFromReporting must not be selected.

• The selected school must be identified by Alternative School Number (BSID).

Student Selection

• Students are selected from the permanent OnSIS S_ON_STU_XML_CLASS_ENROL_C table.

• Students must be in Grades 9, 10, 11, or 12.

• Student must be in the selected school, academic year, and submission period.

• The student is counted if the Course Start Date is on or after Cycle Start Date and the Withdrawal/ Dropped Code is null

• Prints classes from the S_ON_XML_Class_S. The classes with a single segment are based on S_ON_XML_SEGMENT_S table.

• Only classes with the following types are included:

  Public Schools

  • Class Type -  R (Regular)

  • Class Type -  RCR (Credit Recovery)

  • Class Type -  E (Online)

  • Class Type -  OTH (Other)

• Private Schools

  • Class Type - NA (Not Applicable)

• Classes must not have the Course Delivery Type 4 (Out-of-school Co-op) or 5 (In-school Co-op).

The report is ordered by Course Code in alpha/ascending order.
