Section D - Courses for Exceptional Students

The Section D Details report helps schools verify student course enrolments for exceptional students reported under Section D. It lists qualifying class enrolment records and indicates whether each record is counted or only listed based on the report rules. It is generated only when the user selects Section D - Courses on the Details report input page.

Selection Criteria

School Selection

Include only secondary public schools.
The report is not applicable to private schools.
The selected school and submission period must match the report run parameters.

Student Selection

Students are selected from S_ON_STU_XML_CLASS_ENROL_C for the chosen academic year, school BSID, and submission type.

Include both active and inactive students.
Include only students who meet at least one of these special education conditions from S_ON_STU_XML_SPED_C:

MAIN_EXCEPTIONALITY_FLAG = "T"

NON_IDENTIFIED_STUDENT_FLAG = "T"

All Special Education Placement Types may appear on the report, but only some placement types are eligible to be counted.

A student can appear on the report without being counted. The counted result depends on both placement type and course timing/withdrawal rules.

Placement Type Rules

Include all Special Education Placement Types in the Details report output.
Only students with SPECIAL_EDU_PLMNT_TYPE = "F" or SPECIAL_EDU_PLMNT_TYPE = "P" are eligible to be counted.
Placement types other than F or P may still be listed if they otherwise qualify for the report.

Class Selection

Select classes from S_ON_XML_Class_S.
Include classes with single or multiple segments based on S_ON_XML_SEGMENT_S.
Include only classes where Class Type = "S" for public schools.

Course Delivery Type Exclusions

Exclude student class enrolment records where COURSE_DELIVERY_TYPE = "4" (Out-of-school Co-op).
Exclude student class enrolment records where COURSE_DELIVERY_TYPE = "5" (In-school Co-op).

Counted vs Listed Logic

Each qualifying student class enrolment record in the Details report must be evaluated as either Count or List.

Count means the record is listed on the Details report and the Counted column is checked.
List means the record is listed on the Details report and the Counted column is unchecked.

The total counted students shown in the Summary report must equal the total number of records marked as counted in the Details report.Report Output
