OnSIS Verification Summary - Section N

Section N - Enrolment by Class - Elementary Only

The Section N (Enrolment by Class) report collects the aggregate class enrolment figures for regular and Special Ed students who have an Active status as of the count date of the submission. The data is sorted by the class code in ascending order. You can run this report for different submissions (October, March, and June) and only for elementary schools.

It is required to import OnSIS PAE files and save OnSIS XML prior to running this report..

Selection Criteria

Selection criteria determine which database records are used in the report. Refer to selection criteria for analysis when the report does not return the correct records.

School Selection

  • Schools with the "Exclude From State Reporting" ([Schools]State_ExcludeFromReporting) checkbox selected are not included.

Student Selection

  • Select the student from the school enrolment permanent table where S_ON_STU_XML_SCHOOL_ENROL_C.Stu_Brd_Res_Stat_Type <> 08 ( Shared). Shared students are excluded from the report.
  • The report must include only Active Students: Students must not have an Enrolment End Date prior to or on the Count Date for the submission period. The student is active when:

    • Enrolment_End_Date = null or greater than the count date.

    • All other students are considered to be Inactive and are to be ignored.

  • Only students enrolled in classes are included in the summary counts and displayed in the details report. That is, students that are not in any class are not be included in the report.

[S_ON_STU_XML_CLASS_S]CLASS_CODE

Grade


The total number of students in a grade for each class.

This row does not include Special Education students whose Special Education Placement Type = Fully Self-Contained ("F") or Partially Integrated ("P").

[S_ON_STU_XML_SCHOOL_ENROL_C] GRADE_TYPE

Special Education

The total number of students enrolled in the class indicated on the row, and according to the student grade and who are Special Education Students: This only include those Special Education Students whose Special Education Placement Type = Fully Self-Contained ("F") or Partially Integrated ("P").

Special Education Placement Type is based on the Main exceptionality or the Non-identified student (Special_Education.MAIN_EXCEPTIONALITY_FLAG = "T"

OR Special_Education.NON_IDENTIFIED_STUDENT_FLAG = "T").

If a student has multiple special education segments (multiple records in S_ON_STU_XML_SPED_C), the student must be counted once in the report.

  • When multiple records are found, the student is counted under the special education column if [S_ON_STU_XML_SPED_C]MAIN_EXCEPTIONALITY_FLAG = "T" and it has at least one placement type in ('F','P'), then that student show under the special education section.

  • If not found (that is, student does not have any records with [S_ON_STU_XML_SPED_C ]MAIN_EXCEPTIONALITY_FLAG = "T) then based on the record where the [S_ON_STU_XML_SPED_C ]NON_IDENTIFIED_STUDENT_FLAG = "T" and it has at least one placement type in ('F','P'), then that student shows under special education section.

  • Otherwise, the student should be counted under Regular students.
