OnSIS Verification Details - Section E

Section E - Enrolment by Attendance Type

The Section E (Enrolled by Year of Entry into Canada) report collects aggregate enrolment information for pupils of the board by year of entry to Canada. You can run this report for either elementary or secondary schools. This detail report lists individual student information for students included in the OnSIS Verification Summary - Section E report.

Selection Criteria

Selection criteria determine which database records are used in the report. Refer to selection criteria for analysis when the report does not return the correct records.

School Selection

  • Schools with the "Exclude From State Reporting" ([Schools]State_ExcludeFromReporting) checkbox selected will not be included.

Student Selection

  • The student must be marked as Pupil of the Board students. (S_ON_STU_XML_SCHOOL_ENROL_C.Stu_Brd_Res_Stat_Type = 01)

  • The student must be enrolled in the school as of the submission count date. (where S_ON_STU_XML_School_Enrol_C .Enrolment_End_Date is NULL, or S_ON_STU_XML_School_Enrol_C .Enrolment_End_Date equals July 1, for June submission)

  • The student was not born in Canada. (where S_ON_STU_XML_SCHOOL_ENROL_C.Country_Type_Birth <> CAN)

  • The student entered Canada for the first time during the three years prior to the submission count date. (where S_ON_STU_XML_SCHOOL_ENROL_C .Year_Of_Entry_To_Canada falls within one of the four years)

  • The student country of birth is not one of the following countries: United States, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, United Kingdom, England, Scotland, Wales, or Northern Ireland. (where S_ON_STU_XML_SCHOOL_ENROL_C.Country_Type is not 667- United States, 034 - AUSTRALIA, 304 - IRELAND, REP OF (EIRE), 439 - NEW ZEALAND, 655 - UNITED KINGDOM, 658 - ENGLAND, CAN - CANADA, 664 - SCOTLAND, 665 -WALES, or 661 - NORTHERN IRELAND) or (S_ON_STU_XML_SCHOOL_ENROL_C.Country_Type  = NULL and S_ON_STU_XML_SCHOOL_ENROL_C.Province_State_Type has a value)

Board Number and Name

The name and Board School identification (BSID) number of the school board.

[Prefs]Value where [Prefs]name is districtnumber, districtname

School Number and Name

The school's name and Board School identification (BSID) number.

[Schools]Alternate_School_Number. If undefined, [Schools]School_Number

[Schools]Name where [Schools]school_number 
OR [Schools]alternate_school_number is equal to the alternative school number selected on the report run page.

Academic Year

The academic year for which the report is run; the report is associated with the OnSIS Reporting Dates entered in District Setup. Format ‘YYYY-YYYY’. For example, 2012-2013.

Submission Period Type

The submission period type selected on the report run page

Defined at report run time.

Submission Period + School Type + "School"

Students are grouped by grade. Each grade is sorted by arrival date and then OEN or student name.


The student's OEN.


Student name

The student's name.

[S_ON_STU_X]Legal_Last_Name or [Students]Last_Name

[S_ON_STU_X]Legal_First_Name or [Students]First_Name

Arrival Date

The year the student entered Canada.

[S_ON_STU_XML_SCHOOL_ENROL_C ]Year_Of_Entry_To_Canada

Birth Country

The student's country of birth.


Age 21+ Indicator

An indicator of whether the student is 21 or over.

[Students]DOB - Calculate if the student is 21 years or over as of December 31, of the current academic school year.

Total for Grade

The total number of students in the grade.


Total students under 21

The total number of students that are under 21 as of December 31 of the specified academic year.


Total students 21 and Over

The total number of students that are 21 or over as of December 31 of the specified academic year.


Grand Total

The total number of students listed in the report.
