Ed-Fi: Student demographics backend issue fix

An issue has been resolved where publishing Enrollment and Demographics from the Data Exchange Dashboard resulted in student demographic records failing with a “Backend query error” message. This occurred due to bad data, specifically multiple non-lunch classifications having identical start or end dates, which triggered system validation errors. The system has been updated to allow all values to be successfully published to student characteristic descriptors without any validations in the backend, even in these scenarios. As a result, districts can now complete publishing without encountering these errors.

Note: Districts that previously experienced this issue should rerun the Publish Changes option from the Data Exchange Dashboard for Enrollment and Demographics to ensure all records are successfully published.

Ed-Fi: Enhanced Student Publishing “Publish All Records” Now Available

The Student Publishing page now includes a Publish All Records button that allows authorized users to publish all eligible student resources at once.

The existing Republish Current Records button remains valuable for refreshing data that has already been published, ensuring previously submitted resources reflect the latest updates.

The new Publish All Records option complements this workflow by locating and publishing ANY eligible resources that have not yet been published for the student. This provides a more complete publishing action similar to the Publish All feature on the Ed‑Fi Dashboard, but scoped to a single student.

Ed-Fi: Update to Student Standard Day (SSD) Publishing in Attendance Resource

Student Standard Day (SSD) publishing has been updated to ensure records are generated only for regular enrollments. Previously, SSD records could be created for both regular and concurrent enrollments, which led to additional records beyond the expected count. With this update, SSD records now align strictly with valid school enrollments, ensuring accurate representation of student data.

Note: Districts will need to republish SSD data to reflect this update i.e. Publish Changes for Attendance Category from the Data Exchange Dashboard.

Ed-Fi: Update to SSA and SEOA Publishing for Re-enrollment Scenarios

Publishing for StudentSchoolAssociation (SSA) and StudentEducationOrganizationAssociation (SEOA) has been updated to better handle re-enrollment scenarios, including concurrent enrollments with same-day entry and exit dates. Previously, these cases could result in multiple records being selected, causing “Unable to Obtain a Stable Set of Rows” errors. With this update, the system now consistently selects the correct re-enrollment record, ensuring stable and reliable publishing. No action is required from districts.
