PSSR-416577

Ed-Fi: Enhanced Student Section Publishing for Remote or Secondary Enrollments

As requested by the Tennessee Department of Education, Ed‑Fi processing has been enhanced to improve reporting for students taking courses at a remote or secondary school.

What will change

• Student Section Ed‑Fi records will now be additionally published using the home school identifier for students enrolled in remote or secondary school courses.

Supporting resources that will also be published
To ensure Ed-Fi publishing as per Framework requirements, the following related resources associated with remote instruction will also be published at the home school level (additionally) -

• Course offerings reflecting courses taught at the remote school

• Sections reflecting instruction at the remote school

• Locations with classroom identifiers tied to the remote location

• Class periods associated with the remote enrollment

Reporting impact

• Remote enrollments will now be accurately attributed to the home school for state reporting and ADM calculations.

• Student section records will continue to publish for the home school even when the remote school is excluded from state reporting.

Action Required (Post‑Release Publishing Order)

To reflect these changes, districts must republish resources in the following order:

1. School Info

2. Organization Schedules

3. Student Sections

Important: Publish the next resource only after the previous one has fully completed. If any job is in progress, wait until it finishes before starting the next.

Note: Publishing times for these resources may be longer than usual due to the additional processing required for this enhancement. We are actively working on performance optimizations and will aim to deliver improvements in upcoming releases.

Ed-Fi: Fixed Duplicate Publishing for Sections and Course Offerings

An issue that caused duplicate Sections and Course Offerings to be published via Ed-Fi for districts that installed SR_25.12.1.0 has been resolved.

The Ed-Fi Tennessee package has been updated to optimize student selection queries for publishing On-Demand resources, including Attendance and Transcripts.

Ed-Fi: Student Sections for prior enrollments

An issue has been resolved where student sections from a prior school enrollment within the current year, were not being published via Ed-Fi. To support this correction, the change introduced in PSSR-415454 in the SR release SR_25.12.2.0, has been reverted and will be reintroduced in a future update.

Ed-Fi: Update to Publish Changes and Selection Processing

The Publish Changes and Publish Selection Ed-Fi publishing options have been updated to ensure invalid attendance records are correctly removed from the Student Publishing Dashboard when attendance codes change.

Ed-Fi: Validation for Enrollment Dates

Ed-Fi processing for Tennessee has been enhanced to improve data integrity in student enrollment records. If a student’s exit date is earlier than the entry date, the exitWithdrawDate will now automatically update to match the entry date in the Student School Association resource. This enhancement ensures accurate publishing and prevents invalid data issues at the ODS.
