Addition of Gifted Fields

A new tab for Gifted fields is now available in the Student’s Compliance menu. The following fields are available on this tab.

• Gifted Participation Code

• Primary Area of Exceptionality

• Percentage of Special Education Received

• Gifted Start Date

• Gifted End Date

• Gifted Caseload Manager

The Primary Area of Exceptionality field in the new Gifted tab is a copy of the field on the Special Ed tab. Updating the value in one will reflect in the other as well.

The following fields have been removed from the Special Ed tab of a Student:

• Gifted Participation Code

Additionally, the Student’s Previous Enrollment page has also been updated with the following changes.

• A new collapsible section for Gifted has been added with the following fields:

  • Gifted Participation Code

  • Gifted Caseload Manager

• A new collapsible section for Gifted & Special Ed Shared Fields has been added with the following fields:

  • Primary Area of Exceptionality

  • Percentage of Special Education Received

• The following fields have been removed from the Special Education collapsible section:

  • Primary Area of Exceptionality

  • Percentage of Special Education Received

Data Exchange General Setup - Updates to School Years selection

The Data Exchange General Setup Page is now updated to allow only one school year to be selected for a particular Profile. 2025-26 and 2024-25 will be the only years available for selection.

New NOVA Profile for 2025-26

The new NOVA Profile for 2025-26 school year is now available in the Profile dropdown on the Data Exchange General Setup page.

CRITICAL: The NM Compliance team will host a walkthrough on completing the 25-26 DEX setup. Do not attempt the setup without the guidance of the NM Compliance team.

New Student Data Entry Fields

The following fields have been added to the Misc tab in the Student’s Compliance menu. These fields have also been added to the Student’s Previous Enrollment page.

• Foster Student

• Foster Custodial Authority

The Medical/Health Condition field on the New/Edit child table record on the Student’s Migrant tab is now a drop-down with the following values:

• Blank (default)

• None

• Acute

• Chronic

A new value 24 - Fort Sill Apache is now available in the Primary Tribe drop-down on the Student’s Demographics page.

Staff Assignment Code Changes

The following new Position Codes have been added on the New/Edit Assignment page in PowerSchool.

• 147 - Educator Fellow

• 148 - Student Teaching Intern

• 149 - Teacher Resident Intern

• 150 - ALT - Teacher of Record
