NOVA - (restraintEvents) Student Restraint Resource

A new NOVA resource, (restraintEvents) Student Restraint, will now publish from PowerSchool. The records of this resource can be seen in a new category called Student Restraint under Student Programs in PowerSchool Ed-Fi dashboards.

A Student Restraint record will be published to NOVA for each occurrence of Physical Restraint, Mechanical Restraint, or Seclusion in PowerSchool Incident Management. Restraint and Seclusion in PowerSchool Incident Management is indicated through action attributes.

For incidents of restraint or seclusion where there is no disciplinary action involved, the action code Restraint or Seclusion – No Disc Action must be used and an appropriate action attribute for restraint or seclusion should be marked as Yes.

If an incident includes both restraint as well as seclusion, it will be treated as restraint.

New Concurrent Enrollment functionality

A new functionality is now available in PowerSchool to generate concurrent enrollment records for all remote course enrollments on or after 08/01/2025. These enrollments can be seen on the Student’s Enrollment History page under a new header, Concurrent Enrollments.

When a new remote course enrollment is created in PowerSchool, a new concurrent enrollment record gets generated by a background process that runs every 30 minutes. Concurrent Enrollments are stored in the child table S_STU_CE_C. Users can create new concurrent enrollment records and edit existing concurrent enrollment records manually if required.

NOVA - (studentSchoolAssociations) Student Enrollment updates to publish Concurrent Enrollments

Any enrollments in the new Concurrent Enrollments table on the Student’s Enrollment History page will now be published to NOVA. This will ensure that there is a studentSchoolAssociations record corresponding to a remote course enrollment.

NOVA - Force Publish functionality Update

After the SR 25.9.3.1 release, the Force Publish functionality wasn't correctly generating the Special Education record and, as a result, the Special Education record wouldn’t publish. This prevented the Force Published Special Education events from publishing.

The Force Publish functionality has been updated and will now generate a correct Special Education record, which will allow force published events to publish successfully.
