Student Academic Record (SAR) Publsihing Update
An issue where publishing data under the Student Transcripts category in Data Exchange resulted in a backend staging error has been resolved.
What Was Fixed
Updated the underlying query and term-matching logic within the Student Academic Record (SAR) process.
Resolved backend staging query errors that prevented transcript records from compiling and publishing.
Action Required: Following the installation of release 26.9.2.0, navigate to Data Exchange > Student Transcripts and republish the category.
Optimized the database extraction and transformation queries used in the Transcripts (Student Academic Record) data publishing process. This update significantly reduces background processing times and queue delays for state reporting submissions in medium and large school districts.
Key Improvements
Query & Join Optimization: Streamlined data retrieval for attendance history, enrollment history, course marks, and term performance rules by replacing repetitive per-row function calls and full table scans with reusable, scoped table joins.
GUID Format Consistency: Corrected internal reference ID formatting (SchoolAttendedRefId) to ensure consistent, standard Global Unique Identifier (GUID) formatting during data extraction.
Key Results
Faster Publishing Times: Overall transcript batch publishing duration is reduced by approximately 30% (reducing total end-to-end processing time from over an hour down to ~42 minutes across full district runs).
Reduced Queue Delays: Processing for small and medium-sized schools now completes in seconds to under a minute, allowing subsequent state publishing jobs to start much sooner.
100% Data Parity: Improvements are internal to the Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) layer and produce identical published transcript records with no impact on reported data accuracy.
