Calendar Date: Data Entry

A new Calendar Membership Type code — Half Day (HD) — has been added for Oklahoma state reporting for the 2026-2027 school year. Users can now enter this code without triggering a validation alert.

New Valid Calendar Membership Type Code — Half Day (HD)

  • The code HD is now recognized as a valid Calendar Membership Type for state reporting.

  • Entering HD will no longer display a validation alert message.

  • The list of valid state reporting codes has been updated to include HD.

Updated Validation Alert Message

  • If an invalid code is entered, the alert message now reads:

Valid State Reporting Codes are: DVL, EM, ELD, H, HD, IN, LAED, MKUP, PD, PT, TOD, STRK, and O.

Calendar Date: Data Publishing

Additional Reference: PSSR-441741

PowerSchool now correctly publishes the Half Day (HD) Calendar Membership Type code on the Calendar Date SIF object for the 2026-2027 school year. The HD code is now mapped and transmitted as HalfDay in the published SIF data. The details are as follows:

New Calendar Date Type Code Mapping — HDHalfDay

  • When the Calendar Membership Type is set to HD (Half Day), the Calendar Date object now publishes the code as HalfDay in the SIF output.

  • This applies to the type_code field on the CalendarDate SIF object.

  • All existing Calendar Membership Type codes continue to publish as before — no changes to existing mappings.

This change allows districts with half‑day Kindergarten or Preschool programs to configure their calendars correctly. Membership will remain at 1.0 since schools receive full‑day credit, but the calendar minutes can now be set appropriately, and the state’s system will process them accordingly.

SIF Framework: Improved Decimal Precision for Number Fields

Resolved an issue where number fields in SIF Unity were being truncated to 2 decimal places. Certain fields require 3 decimal places for accurate data publishing. With this fix, the framework now supports configurable decimal precision per field, ensuring number values are published with the correct level of precision in SIF Unity outputs.

SIF Framework: New Query Support for Student School Enrollment by Membership Type

Updated SIF Unity to support a new query request on the StudentSchoolEnrollment object for the 2026-2027 school year. The new query filters enrollments by both School and Membership Type, allowing more precise retrieval of student enrollment records.

SIF Unity: Charter District Update

SIF Unity now correctly handles data publishing for charter districts that have both accredited and non-accredited school sites. Previously, all data was reported under a single accredited site, causing non-accredited sites to be misrepresented in state reporting. This fix ensures that TermInfo and SchoolCourseInfo objects are published only under the correct accredited schools when the Is Charter District? district preference is enabled.

Updated SIF Publishing for Charter Districts — TermInfo & SchoolCourseInfo

  • When the Is Charter District? (PSSR_CharterDistrict) district preference is enabled:

    • TermInfo — Only terms belonging to accredited schools (AccreditedStatus = 'A') are published. Terms from non-accredited sites are excluded.

    • SchoolCourseInfo — Only courses from accredited schools are published. Courses from non-accredited sites are excluded entirely.

  • When the Is Charter District? preference is disabled, all publishing behavior remains unchanged — no impact to non-charter districts.

All courses offered in the district must appear in the 2026–2027 course catalog at the Accredited sites. Sections at Non‑accredited sites will not publish to the state if their corresponding courses are not set up at the Accredited sites.

Who Is Affected

Oklahoma charter districts that use the Is Charter District? preference (PSSR_CharterDistrict) are affected. Districts that do NOT use the Charter District preference will see no change in behavior.

SIF Unity: Student & Enrollment Processing Improvements

The student and enrollment selection logic in SIF Unity has been refactored to provide consistent, reliable handling of all enrollment scenarios. The system now uses S-type (student) and R-type (re-enrollment) records as the primary selection criteria, eliminating the dependency on the Enroll_Status field and the complex conditional logic previously required for special enrollment cases.

What's Improved

Standardized enrollment processing that now correctly handles all of the following scenarios without separate, scenario-specific code paths:

  • Regular enrollments: Transferred out, transferred between schools, and re-enrolled students

  • No-show students: Same-day enrollment/transfer-out records

  • Pre-registered students

  • PS Enrollment integration students: Students originating from enrollment-school workflows where the school is excluded from reporting

  • Summer school students

  • Graduated students: Including early graduates

Why This Matters

Previously, certain enrollment patterns — particularly no-shows, pre-registered students, and enrollment-school scenarios — could result in duplicate Student Personal records appearing on multiple dashboards or incorrect data publishing. This refactor ensures:

  • Each student is published once under the correct school/dashboard

  • Dependent records (Student Demographics, Student School Enrollments, Student Contact, Participation) are processed consistently

  • No duplicate composite-key collisions across dashboards

Student Personal: Data Entry

A new district-level preference and student-level field have been added to support districts on-boarding to PowerSchool for the first time. These changes enable accurate tracking of Student Personal RefID from a previous student information system. The details are listed below:

New District Preference — "State Reporting First Year"

  • Location: District Info > Compliance tab (below "Is Charter District")

  • Type: Checkbox (True/False)

  • Default: Unchecked (False)

  • Enable this preference to indicate the district is in its first year of PowerSchool implementation.

New Student Field — "Migrated STN (Student's Previous RefID)"

  • Location: State Compliance > General tab (below Student Testing Number)

  • Visibility: Only displayed when the "State Reporting First Year" district preference is enabled.

  • Use this field to capture the student's unique identifier from the previous SIS for state reporting and interoperability record matching.

Student Personal: Data Publishing

Additional Reference: PSSR-444667

PowerSchool now publishes a previous Student Personal RefID via SIF to support districts onboarding to PowerSchool for the first time. This enables the state to correctly match historical student records and reassign existing State Testing Numbers (STNs) to newly created StudentPersonal records. The details are as follows:

New SIF Extended Element — MigratedSTN

  • Published as part of the StudentPersonal SIF object.

  • Value is sourced from the student's MigratedSTN extension field (the previous vendor's StudentPersonalRefId).

  • Only included in the SIF publication when the district's State Reporting First Year preference is enabled.

    • If the data entry field has a value, the MigratedSTN extended element is published.

    • If the data entry field is blank, the MigratedSTN element is published with an empty value.

    • If the district is no longer flagged as First Year Implementation, the element is omitted entirely.

Who Is Affected

Oklahoma districts transitioning from another SIS vendor to PowerSchool for the 2026-2027 school year.
