Introduction
This report supports Missouri DESE/MOSIS August and June School Calendar submissions and generates the required calendar reporting files to be uploaded to the state. The report introduces new district- and school-level configuration options that allow districts to maintain calendar-specific reporting information and accurately calculate instructional time.
The August and June submissions each contain a Header file and a Days file. The output file is a ZIP file, and its naming convention is MOSIS_SchoolCalendar_[Timestamp]. Within the ZIP file, the naming convention of the two files is:
-
MO_SchoolCalendarHeader
-
MO_SchoolCalendarDays
Prerequisite
-
You have set calendar preferences at the district level and for schools in a district. For more information, refer to the Setting Up Calendar Preferences (District Level) section and Setting Up Calendar Preferences for School section on the District Setup page.
-
You have set calendar preferences at the school level, which includes:
-
Specifying values for the two new fields, Event Code and Event Hours. For more information, refer to the Configuring Calendar section on the School Setup page.
-
Excluding a period from the bell schedule (if required). For more information, refer to the Editing a Bell Schedule section on the School Setup page.
-
Selection Criteria
Selection criteria determine which database records are used in the report. Refer to selection criteria for analysis when the report does not return the correct records.
Record Selection
The report selects records from the [Calendar_Day] and Calendar-related tables based on the following criteria:
-
Calendar Header Records are created for the selected Reporting Year and selected School(s) to Include. Only schools that are not excluded from state reporting are available as options.
-
Calendar Days Records are created for each school selected in the Schools to Include parameter. A record will be created for each record in the Calendar_Day table where the Date_Value is between the Terms table FirstDay and LastDay for the Reporting Year and respective school.
-
Saturdays and Sundays are, by default, not included in the file but all other days are included regardless of the In Session indicator on the Calendar.
-
