Elementary Progress Report Card (Grades 1–6): Drama ESL/ELD Incorrectly Selected |
Elementary Progress Report (1-6) - Gradebook: Version 6.3 On the Ontario Elementary Progress Report Card for Grades 1–6, the ESL/ELD indicator for Drama was sometimes marked when the student's Drama ESL/ELD standard was not set. This has been fixed. The Drama ESL/ELD indicator is now marked only when the standard E1-6.ARDR.PR.M.FLG is set to E or EandI for the student. |

Enrollment Reports ignore FTE Override |
Enrolment Reports: Version 6.8 In Ontario Enrolment Reports, a student in an expulsion program with an FTE Override of 1.0 was not counted as full-time at their home school if they were also cross-enrolled in an Independent Study course at another school. The Independent Study enrolment took priority over the override, so the student's home school FTE came out wrong, even though the OnSIS submission file counted the student correctly. Enrolment Reports now apply the FTE Override in this case. The student counts as 1.0 FTE at the home school, and the results match the OnSIS submission. Schools no longer need to enrol these students in SUSEXP placeholder courses as a workaround. |

OnSIS PAE File Import: Support for New Financial Literacy Graduation Requirement Type Column |
The Ontario Ministry of Education updated the layout of the EXSMS-0003 Student School Enrolment Extract by adding a new column, Financial Literacy Graduation Requirement Type, at the end of the file. The OnSIS PAE File Import in PowerSchool now accepts the new layout and saves the value from this column in the new field FIN_LIT_GRAD_REQ_TYPE_CODE in the ON_School_Enrollments table. The import process is fully backward compatible, existing import files still work without the new column. |

OnSIS Submissions: High Complex Needs Indicator Sent Only for 2026–2027 and Later |
OnSIS Elementary School Submission: Version 19.6 OnSIS Secondary School Submission: Version 20.3 OnSIS Elementary and Secondary School Submission batch files now include the HIGH_COMPLEX_NEEDS_FLAG element in the SPECIAL_EDUCATION segment only for submissions in the 2026–2027 school year and later, as the Ministry's OnSIS batch file specifications require. Batch files for 2025–2026 and earlier school years will not include this flag so they still pass validation against the earlier Ministry schemas. |

Ontario Elementary Progress Reports - Learning Skills and Work Habits not printing |
Elementary Progress Report (1-6) - Gradebook: Version 6.3
Learning Skills and Work Habits values now print on the Ontario Elementary Progress Report (Grades 1–6) and Elementary Progress Report (Grades 7–8) even when a student's homeroom entry or exit dates don't match their subject entry or exit dates. Before this fix, the reports left these values blank whenever the dates differed, which happens often when schools reschedule students during re-organization. This affected reports for both the current and previous school years. Now, as long as the student's homeroom enrolment falls within their school enrolment, the report prints the stored Learning Skills and Work Habits values. Schools no longer need to change homeroom entry dates to match subjects as a workaround. |

Secondary Unexcused Absences for Assessment Report |
Secondary Unexcused Absences for Assessment Report: Version 1.0 A new Ontario report, Secondary Unexcused Absences for Assessment, shows unexcused absence rates for each secondary course section. Following Growing Success guidance, it helps teachers and administrators review attendance and participation when they make assessment decisions. Administrators can run it from the school level of the Admin Portal, and teachers can run it from PowerTeacher for the students in their classes. You choose one or more course sections, the current student selection or all students, and an attendance cutoff date, which defaults to the last day of the selected term. You can also include inactive students who were enrolled in the class for at least one day. The Excel output lists the school, course section, lead teacher, student name and OEN, scheduled classes, unexcused classes missed, and the absence rate (unexcused classes missed ÷ scheduled classes × 100). Scheduled classes are based on each student's own enrolment dates and timetable, not the full class roster. The way unexcused classes are counted follows the section's Record Attendance setting: "once for all meetings" or "each meeting separately." The report shows the raw percentage only and doesn't assign Growing Success levels, so teachers can use their professional judgment. Before running the report, a district administrator must assign the UnEx category to every attendance code that counts as an unexcused absence. If no codes have this category, the report shows 0 unexcused classes missed and a 0.0% absence rate for every student. |

SHSM Best Fit Logic Updates |
On the Ontario SHSM Progress page, Best Fit logic was not utilizing a student's unused Major credits into non-Major (non-Math, non-English) categories that still needed credits. Best Fit logic now puts unused Major credits toward unfilled non-Major categories in sort order, until each category is filled or no credits are left. The fix also applies to reports that use the same SHSM calculations, such as the Student Status report, which now matches the SHSM Progress page. |

Teachers Now Select FLGR Alpha Scores from a Dropdown |
On the Teacher Portal Test Results page, Ontario teachers now select the Financial Literacy Graduation Requirement (FLGR) alpha score from a dropdown instead of typing it in a text box. This helps prevent data entry errors. The alpha score field becomes a dropdown when a test's name includes "(FLGR)". Options come from the new ONFLGRAlphaScore code set:
Each option displays as "Display Value (code)", and only the code is saved. No option is selected by default. Scores already on file still appear in the field, including scores that are not in the code set, such as those entered in the Admin Portal. |
