Ed-Fi: Update to Discipline Incident Behaviors

This update improves how the system handles duplicate behavior elements in discipline incidents to prevent publishing errors to the Ed-Fi ODS, such as “The 2nd item of the DisciplineIncidentBehaviors collection is a duplicate."

Users sometimes created multiple instances of the same behavior and assigned each one to a different offender within the same incident. While functionally valid in SIS, this caused issues during publishing because the Ed-Fi ODS does not allow duplicate behavior entries within a single discipline incident.

  • The system now automatically detects and ignores duplicate behavior elements within a single incident.

  • During publishing, it selects only one instance of the duplicate behavior to send to the ODS.

  • If any of the duplicate behaviors is marked as Primary, that instance is prioritized for publishing.

  • If none are marked as Primary, the system will randomly select one of the duplicates to publish.

Enhancement - Context-Sensitive Help

When users click the State Reporting Help button on a page, they are now directed to contextual help within the SIS State Reporting Help Guide, specific to the page they are currently viewing. This improves usability by providing targeted support instead of routing users to the general documentation homepage.
