26-27 - Incident Management Code Updates

The following code updates have been made within Incident Management to support 26-27 NOVA reporting:

Behavior Code Description changes:

• 71 Physical Attack/Fight with firearm/explosive^ will be 71 Physical Harm/Fight with firearm/explosive^

• 72 Physical Attack/Fight without weapon^ will be 72 Physical Harm/Fight without weapon^

• 73 Physical Attack/Fight w Weapon - not frm/exp^ will be 73 Physical Harm/Fight w Weapon - not frm/exp^

Action Code Description Changes:

• 8 Other/Unknown^ will be 8 Oth/Unkwn (NON Rmvls ONLY, just. req for SWD)^

New Action Code:

• 22 Additional Behavior’s Response

Note: The new code will be seeded with a Start Date of 7/1/2026

Retired Behavior Code:

• 75 - Disruptive Conduct

26-27 - New Course & Section-Level Data Collection Updates

The following Course-level & Section-level changes have been made:

1. Any New Mexico specific fields that are not used for NOVA reporting have been moved to a Deprecated Fields portion of the page.

2. The fields that are used for NOVA reporting are now listed in alphabetical order in the following categories:

   1. NOVA Course Settings

   2. NOVA Characteristics

3. A new Innovative Staffing Model field is now available.

   • S_NM_CRS_X.InnStaffModel

4. At the Section-level, Team Teacher 1 & 2 Role cod fields are now available. These fields will allow New Mexico users to define what classroomPositionDescriptor value should publish (i.e. Educational Assistant, Assistant Teacher, etc.)

26-27 - New Staff Assignment Code

The new staff assignment code 151S - ALT - SpEd Teacher of Record - Preschool is now available for use.

26-27 Assessment Fact Data Collection Updates

The following updates have been made to the Assessment Fact data collection:

1. The ALT Screener test and all pertinent Item Descriptions and Standard Achieved Codes are now available for use.

2. The Item Description value of NMELPAPT is updated to Composite Overall.

   1. Note: NMELPAPT records that started and ended in a previous school year will still reflect the NMELPAPT value.

26-27 DEX General Setup Updates

To support NOVA publishing in the 2026-2027 school year:

1. The DEX > General Setup page now includes a checkbox for the 26–27 school year.

2. A NOVA 26-27 DEX profile has been seeded.
