Exit Codes

The following Exit codes must be set up at the district level and assigned at the student level.

Code	Definition
01	Expelled Note: If this code is defined, the student must have an out-of-School Expulsion and a Discipline Record.
02	Dropped out Note: If this code is defined, the student must also have a dropout reason code.
03	Illness Note: This code is defined if the student plans to return to school
04	Graduate with Diploma
05	GED Only
06	Certificate of Achievement Note: This code applies to special education students.
07	Death/Permanent Incapacitation
08	Transfer to Another Public School in District
09	Transfer to Another Public School Within Louisiana
10	Transfer Out of State or Country
11	Adult Education
12	Correctional Institution/State Custody (ages under 17 or known to be receiving services)
14	Transferred to Non-public School
15	Exit from Grade to Re-assignment to Another Grade Note: A record with this exit code must be sent with a record assigned an entry code and a new grade level.
16	Transferred to BESE-Approved Home Study
17	Completed Carnegie Unit Req; Failed GEE or EOC
18	No Show
19	Exit from Non-mandatory Attendance Program Note: This code applies to students who already received a GED, diploma, or Certificate of Achievement and came back for vocational training.
20	Transfer to Early College Admission Program
23	Options Program Completer (GED and Locally Designed Skills Certificate) (No longer available)
26	Options Program Completer (Certificate of Coursework/Activities Completion) (No longer available)
27	Exit Under SBESE Academic School Choice Policy
28	Exit Under SBESE Unsafe School Choice Policy
34	Correctional Institution/State Custody (ages 17 and above)

44	Exited to non-public not seeking BESE approval (No longer available)
45	Completed requirements/attending Extension Academy (No longer available)

13	Transferred to Vocational Technical School Available only for school year 2017-2018 and earlier. Note: This code should not be used if the student is active in the Options Program.
22	Options Program Completer (GED and Industry Based Certificate) Available only for school year 2017-2018 and earlier.
24	Options Program Completer (Industry Based Certificate Available only for school year 2017-2018 and earlier.
25	Options Program Completer (Local Skills Certificate) Available only for school year 2017-2018 and earlier.
35	Transferred to LEA-monitored Adult Ed to purse GED Available only for school year 2017-2018 and earlier.
36	Completer (State Approved Skills Certificate) Available only for school year 2017-2018 and earlier.
40	Transferred under scholarship to Public School within Student's District of Residence (Available only for school year 2019-2020 and earlier)
41	Transferred under scholarship to a Public School in a District other than the Student's District of Residence (Available only for school year 2019-2020 and earlier)
