SIF & Locator FAQ
Q: I have requested an ID in Locator but I’m not seeing it in PS.
A: The sync process is not immediate. The systems require a few minutes (up to 10) to process the data event.
Q: What happens if a student record is updated in PS?
A: The system is configured that when certain data changes on the record, it will send out a change event to Locator. It will do this automatically or if a district republishes the data before the event is processed.
Q: What happens when a student is exited from a school by changing the student school enrollment record to have an Exit Date of today or earlier?
A: SIF will send out a change event to Locator. It will do this automatically or if a district republishes the data before the event is processed.
Q: When a student school enrollment record is deleted from PowerSchool, will a SIF Delete Event be sent for that record?
A: If the record get’s deleted, the system will send Locator a delete message, either by the event (automatic if enabled) or by a republish (for a single or multiple students).
