Corrected Duplicate Record Validation for Students Not Tested page Entries

Previously, when users attempted to create a Students Not Tested record on State Assessments, the system incorrectly triggered a duplicate record validation error if the student already had a record for the same test category in a different term or school year.

The validation logic on the Students Not Tested page has been corrected to account for the selected term and school year, allowing users to successfully save records for different terms without encountering duplicate errors.

Action Steps: No district action is required. Users can now enter Students Not Tested records for different terms or school years after installing this release.

Ed-Fi: Assessments Publishing Staging Backend Error Fix

An issue where publishing Assessment data in the South Carolina Ed-Fi Data Exchange resulted in a 'Staging Backend Error' has been resolved. The issue was found to occur for students enrolled in more than one course that is eligible for myigdis rostering.

Note: Districts must republish the Assessments Ed-Fi resource category to apply this fix and clear any existing publishing errors.

New Dependency added for Ed-Fi Sections Without Required Expression

South Carolina Ed-Fi version 7.3 publishing has been enhanced to provide clearer visibility into course sections that are missing a schedule expression.

When a Section does not have a schedule expression assigned, the record will now display a "Missing Section Expression" dependency. Related Student Section Associations and Staff Section Associations will also display a dependency on the parent Section record, making it easier to identify and troubleshoot downstream publishing impacts.

Sections without a schedule expression will not be published to Ed-Fi. A valid schedule expression must be assigned before the Section can be published successfully.

Action Required: Assign a valid schedule expression to affected sections and republish the Org Schedules resources. After the Section records have published successfully, republish the related Student Section Associations and Staff Section Associations resources to ensure all dependent records are published correctly.

SCDE Ed-Fi Update: 2026-2027 Beginning-of-Year Student Page Enhancements

The South Carolina Student Information page has been updated with Beginning-of-Year enhancements for the 2026-2027 school year. This includes adding dropdown options for Ninth Grade Code ("28 - 2027-2028") and GED Earned ("2027"), updating the Moved To School and School of Residence selection lists with updated district and school records, and transitioning the selection lists to dynamic database-driven values.

Action Steps: No district action is required. The updated options and dropdown values will be available automatically after applying the release.

SCDE Ed-Fi Update: Location Resource Room Mapping Enhancement

The Ed-Fi Location resource mapping for South Carolina has been updated to incorporate the section room value into the classroomIdentificationCode element. The updated mapping now constructs the classroomIdentificationCode by using the actual Section Room value, followed by an underscore (_), and then appending the existing Where Taught District and Where Taught values. When either the Where Taught District or Where Taught field is blank, the system has used default values of 0000 and 000, respectively, to ensure a valid classroomIdentificationCode is generated.

Action Steps: Because this update modifies a composite key, districts must republish the Organization Info resource twice on the Data Exchange Dashboard, at District level, to properly remove previous records and establish the updated key in Ed-Fi.
