Exit Codes
The following exit codes must be defined at the district level. Codes no longer used by the CDE are listed in italics.

00 | Student completed the school year |
01 | Reached maximum age for services |
02 | Death |
05 | Transfer to a school located in a different country |
06 | K-6 student exited to an unknown educational setting/status |
10 | Grade reassignment within same school |
11 | Transfer to a public school in the same school district |
12 | Transfer to a non-district site |
13 | Transfer to a public school in a different local education agency |
14 | Transfer to a school located in a different state |
15 | Transfer to a non-public school |
16 | Transfer to home-based education (home schooling) |
18 | Transfer to a Vocational Education Program not administered by a Colorado School District or BOCES |
20 | Transfer to a facility administered by the district |
21 | Transfer to a facility operated by the Colorado Department of Corrections or Division of Youth Corrections |
22 | Student exited the district after previously being erroneously coded as a graduate in a prior year |
25 | Extended absence |
26 | Transfer to a detention center (out of district) |
27 | Previously counted as Graduate and will participate in SpecialED 18-21 transition services next year |
28 | Previously counted as graduate and completed special education 18-21 transition services |
30 | Illness/Injury |
40 | Discontinued schooling/dropped out |
45 | Student discontinued schooling for six weeks or longer, but returned |
50 | Expulsion |
55 | Expelled without educational services and returned |
56 | Expelled with educational services |
70 | GED Transfer |
90 | Graduated with regular diploma |
91 | Graduated with regular diploma by meeting IEP requirements (no longer used) |
92 | Other Completer |
93 | General Education Development Certificate (GED) |
94 | Student received GED certificate from a non-district run program in the same school year in which they transferred to the GED program |
95 | Student received a diploma in the current year after being reported as a GED recipient by the reporting district |
