Vaccine CVX Codes for VIIS

The PowerSchool SIS Health Module supports the use of Vaccine CVX Codes. CVX Codes when aligned to the proper vaccine helps to accurately identify a student’s immunization status.

The VIIS Immunization download processes matches the CVX codes in VIIS with the CVX codes that are defined in PowerSchool SIS Health setup. Improper setup will prevent data from downloading (publishing = 0). A To ensure that the downloaded immunization for the student is associated with the proper vaccine in PowerSchool, select all CVX codes that apply to a vaccine on the Immunizations setup tab.

A CVX Mapping list was sent to all Division Nurses from VDH. For an up-to-date list of valid vaccines and their CVX codes, go to CDC Immunization System - IIS: Current HL7 Standard Code Set CVX -- Vaccines Administered.

Note: VDH has indicated that PS Rule binding be set to the CDC rules for each Immunization Vaccine. Rule binding is a PowerSchool Health Module feature that supports the PowerSchool Health Module and must be turned on one vaccine at a time with the setting to “Automatically” assess compliance.
