Code Sets

Entry Codes and Exit Codes are maintained by districts through the use of Code sets.

Entry Codes: Entry Codes are required for the successful publishing of a student’s StudentSchoolAssociation (school enrollment) record. Due to this, only valid PED codes should be configured and/or used.

Exit Codes: Exit Codes are not a required element and can be blank or omitted from a student’s StudentSchoolAssociation (school enrollment) record. Due to this, if local codes are used (codes that are not recognized by PED), the code should be excluded from state reporting through the Edit Code page.

Note: Exit Codes are only to be reported to PED if the student leaves the reporting LEA. If a student is is continuing on within the LEA, either at the same school or a different school, an Exit Code should not be published to PED. In this scenario, a local use Exit Code cvan be used or the Exit Code can remain blank.
