Student Setup

Introduction

The following data elements are required for manually enrolling a student. To edit an existing student's information, see Edit Student Information below. The first two pages of navigation are removed for brevity:

Start Page > Enroll New Student

  1. On the Start Page select the School link.

  2. Choose the appropriate School from the pop-up menu.

  3. Click Submit.

  4. Select Enroll New Student from the side menu. The Enroll New Student page appears.

CDS CODE OVERRIDES

How to enter County, District, and School Codes

There are three groups of fields for County, District, and School Codes:

  • Resident

  • Receiving

  • Attending

If you enter values in these fields, the order in which you enter the fields is important. Each field group is built on the previously entered values; that is, the School is built from District and the District is built from County. Therefore, you must enter the fields in this order:

  1. Enter the County field. The County entered is used to filter the District list.

  2. Enter the District field. The District entered is used to filter the School list.

  3. Enter the School field.

If you leave a field blank, the value displayed below that field is extracted.

Resident — County Code Override

Enter the county code for the resident school enrollment. The value entered is validated against the NJ SMART County District and School Codes list.

Note: Leave this field blank to extract the school’s county code.
