Incident Rules

State reportable incidents must be associated with the incident type PA State Reportable.

A participant can either be an offender or a victim but cannot be both.

At least one participant must be assigned the role of offender for each incident.

At least one behavior must be defined for each offender. After you create a behavior, you must drag the behavior to the participant to associate the two elements.

At least one action must be assigned to each violent behavior assigned to an offender. After you create an action, you must drag the action to the behavior to associate the two elements. After the action is associated with the behavior, it no longer appears under the Incident Elements heading.

If weapons were involved, specify the total number of weapons for this offender, for this incident, and the Infraction Code.

Offender Attributes are: ARRESTED CODE, ASSIGNED TO ALTERNATIVE EDUCATION INDICATOR, ADJUDICATION CODE, WEAPON DETECTED, PARENT INVOLVEMENT CODE, RECEIVED SERVICES INDICATOR

Note that not all incidents will have a victim. For example, crimes against property such as vandalism will not have a victim. Additionally, a fighting incident will not have a victim (all parties are considered offenders in this case)

Victim Attributes are: STUDENT ASSISTANCE PRO REFERRAL INDICATOR, INJURY SEVERITY CODE, and MEDICAL TREATMENT REQUIRED INDICATOR.

Witnesses are not required for incidents.

Witnesses must not have any associated behaviors.

Witnesses do not have state reportable actions.

Reporters are not required for incidents.

Participant Attributes are used to identify incidents that involve; Weapons Detected, Injury Severity Code, Medical Treatment Required Indicator, PA District AUN (for participants from other PA Districts)
