SSEC Summary Data Collection

Introduction

The School Safety and the Education Climate (SSEC) Summary Data Collection Form collects data regarding violent or disruptive incidents, as well as incidents of, discrimination, harassment, bullying, and cyberbulling, is compiled to comply with New York State reporting requirements and to designate schools that are persistently dangerous.

This report has no specified selection criteria.

Description

Report Parameters

Select the checkbox next to the filter fields to save the settings as defaults. To select all checkboxes, choose Select All from the pop-up menu. To clear all checkboxes, choose Clear All.

Select Schools

Indicate which school to include in the report by selecting one of the following options:

  • Current School Only – Includes all incident records associated with the current school within the reporting period. To change the current school, click School at the top of the page and choose the appropriate school from the list.
  • All Schools (default) – Includes all incident records for all schools within the reporting period.
  • District Office Only – Includes all incident records associated with the district office within the reporting period.

Students to Include

Indicate which students to include in the report by selecting one of the following options:

  • The selected [number] students only – Run the report for students in the current selection.
  • All students – Run the report for all students in the selected school(s) or district.

Note: If running the report for a single student, or group of students, select the students prior to running report.

Start Date

Enter the first day of the reporting period.

End Date

Enter the last day of the reporting.

Select Term IDChoose a term for the reporting period.

This section provides columns and calculates values for the following incident behavior categories and subcategories:

Note: For calculations which are not needed for a particular incident behavior category, the report grays out the cell and does not calculate a value.

The total number of incidents. Each incident is counted only once, regardless of the of the number of offenders or victims involved. If the incident fits more than one behavior category, it counts in the most serious (higher weighted) category.
