SSEC Part 2: DASA Summary Form (Page 2)

Introduction

Page 2 of the New York DASA Summary Form summarizes "material incidents of cyberbullying" that may occur as required by the Dignity for All Students Act (DASA).

Incidents are aggregated based on the following categories:

a) Race                      b) Ethnic Group           c) National Origin       d) Color

e) Religion                  f) Religious Practice    g) Disability                h) Gender

i) Sexual Orientation   j) Sex                          k) Weight                    l) Other

School Incidents: If the report is run at the school level, the report includes incidents that occur on school property for the selected school.

District Incidents: If the report is run at the district level, the report includes district incidents that occur on district property only, not a grouping of all school incidents in the district. A district incident occurs when no school can be associated to the incident.

Incident types:

Cyberbullying:

  • Incidents involving intimidation or abuse but no threat(s)
  • Incidents involving threat

Offender types:

  • Student offender only
  • Staff offender only
  • Both student and staff offenders involved

Report Parameters

Select the checkbox next to the filter fields to save the settings as defaults. To select all checkboxes, choose Select All from the pop-up menu. To clear all checkboxes, choose Clear All.

Start Date

First day of the reporting period used for the report.

End Date

Last day of the reporting period used for the report.

Report Output

Each of the fields displayed in the output of the report are described below. See Understanding the Report Output Table for a definition of each column in the table.

Note: The tables and fields used to store incident data are not accessible via Direct Database Export (DDE) or Direct Database Access (DDA). All incident data elements associated with each category must be associated with the following tables and fields:

2. Material Incidents of Cyberbullying:

A summary of incidents meeting the following conditions:

  • The incident contains one or more DASA behaviors.
  • The incident has been assigned an attribute identifying it as involving cyberbullying.
