KIDS Collection EXIT
Exited Students
The Kansas Collection EXIT report is used to submit data elements, based on the EXIT collection cycle, to the Kansas Department of Education (KSDE) Kansas Individual Data on Students (KIDS) system. The EXIT Collection focuses on gathering exit information on students who have left a school for a variety of reasons (e.g., graduation, dropout, transfers, etc.). An EXIT collection record is submitted anytime a student leaves a building to terminate an association with a school.
Selection Criteria
Selection criteria determine which database records are used in the report. Refer to the selection criteria for analysis when the report does not return the correct records.
Student Selection
The student must not be excluded from state reporting.
The student’s school entry date must be greater than or equal to the first day of the school year.
The student’s school exit date must be less than or equal to the day after the last day of the school year.
You can exclude students from this report by setting the student's Exclude From State Reporting flag on the Demographics tab under the State/Province - KS.
For No-Show Students
The Enroll Status must be 2 (Transferred Out).
The Entry Date must equal the first day of school.
The Entry Date must equal their Exit Date.
The Current Grade Level is not 99.
The Year part of the Entry Date must be greater than 1991.
For Exited Students
The Enroll Status must be 2 (Transferred Out).
The Entry Date must be less than or equal to the End Date entered in the report input.
The Exit Date must be greater than the Start Date entered in the report input.
The Exit Date must be greater than the Entry Date.
orThe Enroll Status must be -1 (Pre-Registered).
The Previous Enrollment Entry Date must be less than or equal to the End Date entered in the report input.
The Previous Enrollment Exit Date must be greater than the Start Date entered in the report input.
Note: Tracked enrollment data is pulled from the previous enrollment for these records.
For Graduate Students
The School ID must be 999999 (Graduated Students School).
The Entry Date is greater than or equal to the Start Date entered in the report input.
The Exit Date is less than or equal to the day after the End Date entered in the report input.
The Exit Date must be greater than their Entry Date.
The Exit code OR Exit/Withdrawal Type is set to 8 (Graduated with regular diploma) or 22 (Students with disabilities who met the district graduation requirements for a regular diploma but are remaining in school to receive transitional services deemed necessary by the IEP team students).
For Transfer Students
The Enroll Status must be 0 (Active).
The Entry Date must be less than or equal to the End Date entered in the report input.
The Exit Date must be greater than the Start Date entered in the report input.
The Exit Date must be greater than the Entry Date.
Current School ID must not be equal to their Next School ID.
Note: Students who transfer from a junior high to a high school in the same district are reported as transfer students. Exclude students from this report by setting the student's Exclude From State Reporting flag on the Demographics tab under the State/Province - KS option.
For Reenrolled Students
Enroll Status must be 0 (Active).
Schools Exclude from State Reporting Flag is not checked.
Run for Student’s current School Number
Student’s Entry Date must be less than or equal to the End Date entered in the report input.
Student’s Exit Date must be greater than the Start Date entered in the report input.
Student’s Exit Date must be greater than their Entry Date.
Reenrollment’s Entry Date must be less than or equal to the End Date entered in the report input.
Reenrollment’s Exit Date must be greater than the Start Date entered in the report input.
Reenrollment’s Exit Date must be greater than their Entry Date.
Student’s Current School ID must be equal to Student’s Previous School ID within the same school year.
Note: If the student has multiple previous enrollment records, then all records will pull in the EXIT report.
Note: Students who transfer from a junior high to a high school in the same district are reported as transfer students.

Schools to Include | Select the school from the popup menu. This report can only be run for one school at a time. Note: To report students that are already graduated from the Graduate Students (999999) school, you must select the student's graduated school in this list. |
