Iowa ELL Extract

Introduction

The Iowa ELL Extract allows districts to send a file to the ELL testing application to create student test records. This is a district-level report. The ELL file is output in comma-delimited (CSV) format. If no data is present for a field, it is immediately followed by a comma.

Selection Criteria

Selection criteria determine which database records are used in the report. Refer to the selection criteria if the report does not return the correct records.

Student Selection

The report selects records from the [Students] or [ReEnrollments] table that meet all of the following criteria:

The student must not be excluded from state reporting.
The student is currently active (enroll_status = 0).
The student’s school must not be excluded from state reporting.
The Students ELL_Status (D0420 Field) is one of the three following values:

- 1 - (Student in an English Langauge Instructional Program)
- 2 - (Identified as ELL but parent waived LIEP services)
- 8 - (Pending)

The As Of Date selected at run time must fall between the Students Entry and Exit Date.

Field	Description
Schools to Include	Select the school(s) to include in the report.
Students to Include*	Indicate which students to include in the report by selecting one of the following options: The selected [number] students only – Run the report for students in the current selection. All students – Run the report for all students in the current school or district that meet the selection criteria. Note: If running the report for a single student, or group of students, select the students prior to running report.
Include Header Row (For file submissions, set to 'No')*	Select Yes or No to include the header row.
As of Date	Enter the as of date for the report.
