Postsecondary Status Report

Term

Select the previous year for including records for students who graduated in the previous academic year.

Select Schools

• Select Multiple Schools – Select multiple schools to include in the report. To select multiple schools, use Ctrl+Click and select each school to be included. Select schools to include in the report.

• Select Single School – From the list of schools, select one school for which you want to generate the report.

• All Schools – Run the report for the entire district.

If run at the school level, the report includes all records associated with the current school that meet the selection criteria. To change the current school, click School at the top of the page and choose the appropriate school from the list.

Submission

Choose the following option from the menu:

• Fall 2 – The extract includes course section records that meet the Fall 2 Student Course Section Enrollment Submission selection criteria. Submit only Postsecondary Status (PSTS) records for students who exited secondary education in the prior academic year that were identified as students who selected and completed a Career Technical Education Pathway. Bypass Validation

Choose Yes or No from the menu to run the validation portion of the extract. The validation ensures that specified fields used for the extract are populated correctly.

If the report identifies errors in student data, an HTML page displays the list of the errors. If the report does not identify any data errors, extract completes as expected.

School Group 
Note: This overrides the Use selection above.

Choose a group of schools to override the above "Use" parameter indicating District-Wide vs.Current School Only. The extract includes student records associated with the selected schools that meet the selection criteria.

Note: This parameter is optional. The “School Group“ Report parameter will only be available when the sub-district functionality is not enabled.

Transaction Type Code

The action the system should take on the data record being submitted.

CALPADS uses the following transaction codes to determine how to handle records:

• Blank: Add or update the record

• D: Delete the record

• R: Replace the record

This field is calculated based on the updatable fields and operational keys.

Local Record ID

A local field to provide the system record identifier for a submitted record in any California Longitudinal Pupil Achievement Data System (CALPADS) file format.

Reporting LEA

The district number in PowerSchool.

A unique identifier for the educational service institution responsible for obtaining and maintaining a student's Statewide Student Identifier by way of an enrollment record in the California Longitudinal Pupil Achievement Data System (CALPADS).

State Business Rules:

If the Education Program Participation Type Code = 20 (Career Technical Education) then the Reporting LEA must match the equivalent field in the most recent SSID Enrollment record in the prior year associated with the LEA.

The school in which the student is enrolled.

The extract uses the school of attendance associated with the student’s program enrollment.

State Business Rules:

If the student attends an independently reporting charter school, the School number must be submitted for both the School of Attendance and the Reporting LEA.

If the student attends an NPS school, the School of Attendance must be 0000001.

Academic Year ID

A unique identifier assigned to a specific Academic Year in which the data are being reported. An Academic Year is the period during which school is in regular session and provides a required number of days of instruction (175 days in California).

The unique identifier for the student assigned to or by the first California district in which the student is enrolled as per the CDE established standards. This number follows the student from school to school throughout their association within the California educational system.

Education Program Participation Type Code

A coded value representing the education program that the student last participated before completing grade 12.

State Business Rules:

If Education Program Participation Type Code = 20 (Career Technical Education), then Student School Completion Status in ODS must = 100 (HSDiploma) and CTE Pathway Completion Year must be the same academic year as the Enrollment Exit Date.

Postsecondary Status Code

A coded value representing the student's postsecondary status after exiting secondary education.

State Business Rules:
