Perkins E-1 Secondary Extract

Introduction

The Perkins E-1 Secondary Extract generates a tab-delimited file of Career Technical Education courses within the district for upload to the Perkins Data System. The extract utilizes the CALPADS CTE data elements to produce the file. This extract can be at the district level or sub-district level.

Selection Criteria

The extract includes records that meet the following criteria:

  • The student must not be excluded from state reporting.

  • The section enrollment must be associated with a school that is not excluded from state reporting.

  • The course must not be excluded from state reporting.

  • The section must not be excluded from state reporting.

  • The section enrollment must be associated with both a section and course that are not excluded from state reporting.

  • The section must be associated with a term within the reporting year.

  • The course must have a Course Content Code of 154 (Career Technical Education)

  • The CTE Provider on the Course or Section must not be blank.

  • To generate the report at the sub-district level, the Sub-district option should be enabled on the server. Make sure that you have added Sub-districts as needed for your reporting needs.

Note: The Perkins E-1 Secondary Extract uses the following matrix provided by CDE to determine which students are concentrators in particular courses. If a student has a CALPADS Student CTE record for a particular pathway and is enrolled in a qualifying course, the student will be counted as a concentrator.
