CASEMIS Extract C

Introduction

This extract is designed to report discipline incidents for students receiving special education services. The extract contains one record for each incident in which the student is involved. There may be more than one record per student if the student was involved in more than one incident during the report date range. By default, the report uses the date range July 1 – June 30 of the school year selected at the top of the page at report runtime.

Selection Criteria

Selection criteria determine which database records are used in the report.

Student Selection

The report selects student records from the [Students] table based on the following criteria:

  • The student must have a CALPADS Program Enrollment with the Education Program Code 144 between the incident Action Begin and Action End dates.

  • The 144 CALPADS Program Enrollment must have an Education Program Membership Code of 1 (Eligible) or 3 (Participating).

  • The student must be assigned an IEP Type of 10 (IEP or IFSP) or 20 (ISP, grade K and higher).

  • The student must not be excluded from state reporting.

  • The student's school enrollment for the report date range must not be excluded from state reporting.

  • The student's school enrollment entry date must occur on or before 6/30/YYYY.

  • The student's school enrollment exit date must occur after 7/01/YYYY.

  • The student's school enrollment exit date must occur after the entry date (excludes no-shows).

  • The student's school for the report date range must not be excluded from state reporting.

Discipline Incident Records

The report selects discipline incident records based on the following criteria:

  • The incident must be associated with a student that meets the criteria above.

  • The student must be identified as an offender in the incident.

  • The student must be assigned to a behavior code in the incident.

  • The student's behavior in the incident must be assigned an action code of Suspension, In-School Suspension, or Expulsion.

  • The incident must be assigned an Action Authority Code of 10, 20, 30, or 31.

  • The Incident Type must be CA State Reporting or CA State Reporting^.

  • The discipline Action Begin and Action End dates must occur within the report date range.
