SOL Graduation Status Update Report

Introduction

This report updates the graduation status for the SOL Test subject areas English, Mathematics, Science, and History/Social Science by comparing the student's Grad Cohort, Anticipated Diploma, and passing tests for each subject.

Selection Criteria

This report has no specified selection criteria.

Field

Description

Select Schools

If run at the district level, select one of the following:

  • Select Multiple Schools – Select schools to include in the report. To select a single school, click that school. To select multiple schools, use Ctrl+Click and select each school to be included.
  • All Schools – Run the report for the entire district.

If run at the school level, the report includes all records associated with the current school that meet the selection criteria. To change the current school, click School at the top of the page and choose the appropriate school from the list.

Students to Include

Indicate which students to include in the report by selecting one of the following options:

  • The Selected [number] Students Only – Run the report for students in the current selection.
  • All Students – Run the report for all students in the current school or district that meet the selection criteria.

Note: If running the report for a single student, or group of students, select the students prior to running report.

Run in Verification Mode (View Only)Choose Yes or No to indicate whether to run the report in Verification Mode. If this parameter is set to Yes, the report produces an output file containing the expected changes in field values but does not update the fields.
Over-write Existing Grad Subject Area Values?Choose Yes or No to indicate whether to overwrite Y values set in the Grad Requirements Met field. If the parameter is set to Yes, the report overwrites the existing values in the fields even if they are set to Y. If the parameter is set to No, the report only updates fields which are N or NULL.
Field DelimiterChoose the field delimiter for the extract file.
Schedule

Select this option if the user wants to run this report on a scheduled basis. Once this option is selected the following choices are:

  • Run Once
    • Start Date and Start Time to run the report.
  • Repeat
    • Select Daily, Weekly, Monthly or Yearly for the appropriate re-occurrence for running the report.
      • If Daily is selected, check the Weekdays only box to limit to weekdays.
      • If Weekly is selected, check which weekday to run the report.
      • If Monthly is selected, check the month to run the report.
      • If Yearly is selected, select either the date or the weekday to run the report.
  • Date Range – Select No End Date or a date that the re-occurrence should end.

Each of the fields displayed in the output of the report are described below. See Understanding the Report Output Table for a definition of each column in the table.

Indicates if the student met graduation requirements for English prior to running the update report.

English Requirement (Updated)

Indicates the updated value of Grad Requirements Met for English. The report calculates a new value based on the student's number of Adjusted Verified Credits compared to the number of verified credits expected for the student's anticipated diploma. It also considers the student's test scores and performance levels.

Note: If the report is run in Verification Mode, this only displays the anticipated change. The report does not update the field.

If the Required for Federal Accountability (ESSA) checkbox is selected for an assessment where the subject area is set to MAT, indicates whether the student had met graduation requirements for Federal Math prior to running this update report.

Federal Math Requirement (updated)

If the Required for Federal Accountability (ESSA) checkbox is selected for an assessment where the subject area is set to MAT, indicates the updated value of Grad Requirements Met for Federal Math.

The qualifying SOL tests are considered only for grade level 9 or higher. If the qualifying SOL test was taken prior to grade 9, the field is set to No.
