Career and Technical Education Credential Collection (CTECC)
Introduction
A new table which will house the Industry Credential Exams has been added to PowerSchool. This will allow users to update necessary Industry Credential information which is then referenced by various fields throughout PowerSchool and extracted in the CTECC report. The setup steps listed below are provided to assist users in the proper setup and management of Industry Certification Exam Data.
Note: Initially the Industry Certification Exams are seeded automatically when accepting the State/Provincial Content of 14.6.0 from that point forward customers will be required to make changes when needed.
How to Create a New Credential Exam
On the Start page, choose District from the main menu. The District Setup page appears.
Under Virginia State Reporting, click Credential Exams. The Credential Exams page appears.
Click New to add a new Exam. The fields to add a new exam appear.
Use the following table to enter information in for the fields:
Field | Description |

Exam Code | Enter the exam code provided by the VADOE- required field |
Credential Exam Name | Enter the exam name provided by the VADOE- required field |
Transcript Exam Name | Enter an abbreviated exam name, if needed, which will be displayed on the VA Transcript |
Exam Cost | Enter the exam cost |
Active | If checked exam will be displayed in lists on the students CTECC page. |
Exclude From State Reporting | Checking 'Exclude from State Reporting' will exclude all results store for this exam from state reports. |
Exclude from Transcript | Checking 'Exclude from Transcript' will exclude all results for this exam from student transcripts. |
Click Submit. The exam will be added to the list of the seeded exams on the page.
How to Edit a Credential Exam
Use this procedure to edit Credential Exam Details.
On the Start page, choose District from the main menu. The District Setup page appears.
Under Virginia State Reporting, click Credential Exams. The Credential Exam page appears.
Click the pencil icon for the row of the exam to be edited. The Edit Credential Exam page appears.
Edit the information as needed. For Field descriptions, seeHow to Create a New Credential Exam above.
How to Delete a Credential Exam
Use this procedure to delete a credential exam that may have been created in error or that is no longer in use.
Note: Only exams with no results stored may be deleted. First remove an exam that has student results recorded and then the exam may be deleted.
On the Start page, choose District from the main menu. The District Setup page appears.
Under Virginia State Reporting, click Credential Exams. The Credential Exam page appears.
Click the pencil icon on the row of the exam to be deleted.
Click Confirm Delete if you wish to proceed with the delete, or Cancel to keep the exam.
