This extract includes a record for each reporting segment set up at the school level, used to determine instructional program report periods.
Selection criteria determine which database records are used in the report. Refer to selection criteria for analysis when the report does not return the correct records.
- The school data is only reported for the Primary school and will not report from the Alternative School Number, except when the school number is invalid and the alternate school number (ASN) is populated and does not match another school number in the district. In this case, the ASN is reported as the School ID. For more information, see the School ID data element in the table below.
- Instructional program report periods are not reported for schools that are excluded from state reporting.

Each of the fields displayed in the output of the report are described below. SeeUnderstanding the Report Output Table for a definition of each column in the table.
The identifier of this record.
The version of this record.
One of the following record types is reported in order to indicate how to modify the state data to match data in PowerSchool. The data in this record either needs to be added to, modified in, or deleted from the state data:
The district number.
The school number.
Note: If the school number is invalid and the alternate school number (ASN) is populated and does not match another school number in the district, the ASN is reported as the School ID. If the ASN matches another school number in the district, the 021 extract will not report.
The four-digit year that the instructional program will be operated to provide instructional services to students. This is the current full year term, as defined using the special operation. See the District Setup > Years & Terms section for more information.
Instructional Program Number
The number used to uniquely identify the program within the school.
Report Period Number
The number of the report period during the instructional program.
Report Period Begin Date
The first day of the 20-day reporting segment.
Report Period End Date
The last day of the 20-day reporting segment.
