Introduction

The Table 9A is a PennData Report for Children with Disabilities, who were subject to disciplinary removal from their educational setting. Data is extracted from Incident Management Tables for this report.

Selection Criteria

Selection criteria determine which database records are used in the report. Refer to selection criteria for analysis when the report does not return the correct records.

Student Selection

  • The student is not excluded from state reporting.

  • The school is not excluded from state reporting.

  • The student’s entry date must be between 0701xxxx and 0630xxxx (with xxxx representing the school year).

  • The incident involved must fall during the selected school year.

  • The student’s exit date must be after 0701xxxx of the next school year.

  • The student must be identified as LEP 01, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08 or 99.

  • The student must be SPED with challenge type not null.

Description

Select Schools

Indicate which schools to include in the report by selecting from the following options:

If sub-districts are not enabled:

  • Select Multiple Schools – Select the schools for which you want to run the report. Includes all student records associated with the selected schools that meet the selection criteria.

  • All Schools (default) – Run the report for all schools. Includes all student records on the PowerSchool server that meet the selection criteria

If sub-districts are enabled: 

  • Select Sub-district - Select the sub-district for which you want to run the report.

  • Select Multiple Schools – Select the schools for which you want to run the report. Includes all student records associated with the selected schools that meet the selection criteria.

  • All Schools in selected sub-district (default) – Run the report for all schools in the selected sub-district. Includes all student records on the PowerSchool server that meet the selection criteria.

If run at the school level, the report includes all records associated with the current school that meet the selection criteria. To change the current school, click School at the top of the page and choose the appropriate school from the list.

Students to Include

Indicate which students to include in the report by selecting one of the following options:

  • The selected [number] students only – Run the report for students in the current selection.

  • All students – Run the report for all students in the current school or district that meet the selection criteria.

Note: If running the report for a single student, or group of students, select the students prior to running report.

Select School Year

Select the appropriate school year for the report from the dropdown menu.

Field Delimiter

Select tab, comma, or pipe as the field delimiter between the fields in the output.

Include Header Labels in output file?

Choose Yes or No to indicate whether to include column headings in the extract file. Including column headers provides a heading for each type of data extracted in the report.

  • 99 - never EL

  • 01 - current EL, not LIFE

  • 03 - former EL, exited, and in 1st year of monitoring

  • 04 - former EL, exited, and in 2nd year of monitoring

  • 05 - former EL, exited, and no longer monitored

  • 06 - current EL, LIFE (Limited or Interrupted Formal Education)

  • 07 - former EL, exited, and in 3rd year of monitoring

  • 08 - former EL, exited, and in 4th year of monitoring

This field is extracted from Start Page > Student > State/Province - PA > Student Info tab.

1. Unilateral Removals to an Interim Alternative Educational Setting by School Personnel

1A. Yes/No (Y/N)

Yes or No to indicate if the student was removed unilaterally to an interim alternative educational setting by school personnel.

This data counts all incidents where the student receives an Action of S8.

The number of times a student has been removed for drug use or possession.

This data counts all incidents where the student receives an Action of S8 and had a Behavior of 47 or 48.

This data counts all incidents where the student receives an Action of S9 and had a behavior of SBI^.

Yes or No to indicate if the student was suspended from school for ten days or less.

This data counts all incidents where the student receives an Action of S4 or S5 and the duration of the incident.

If student received an Action of S6 or S7 then 'N'. 

OR

If number of days suspended is <= 10 with Action of S4 or S5 then 'Y' else 'N'.

3B. Totaling > 10 Days – Yes/No (Y/N)

Yes or No to indicate if the student was suspended for ten days or more, or expelled.

This data counts all incidents where the student receives an Action of S4, S5, S6, and/or S7 and the duration of the incident.

This data counts all incidents where the student receives an Action of S3, S4, S5, S6, S7, S8 and/or S9, and the duration of each.
