Student Fact Template for Career Standards Benchmarks

Introduction

The Student Fact Template for Career Standards Benchmarks contains data pertaining to Career Education and Work Standards. It extracts data for all students in grade 5, 8, and 11 with the required Yes or No values for the indicator field in the report. The output file matches the standard naming conventions for the Pennsylvania Department of Education: DistrictCode_STUDENT_FACT_YYYYMMDDHHMM.xxx. 

Selection Criteria

Selection criteria determine which database records are used in the report. For the Student Template/Snapshot, student records are selected.

School Selection

The report selects the records from the Schools table, where the school is associated with a student included in the report.

  • The school must not be excluded from state reporting.

Student Selection

The report selects the student records to use based on the following criteria:

  • The student must be enrolled in a school included in the report.

  • The student must not be excluded from state reporting.

  • The student must be in grade level 5, 8, or 11 during the report period.

Select Schools

Indicate which schools to include in the report by selecting from the following options:

If sub-districts are not enabled:

  • Select Multiple Schools – Select the schools for which you want to run the report. Includes all student records associated with the selected schools that meet the selection criteria.

  • All Schools (default) – Run the report for all schools. Includes all student records on the PowerSchool server that meet the selection criteria

If sub-districts are enabled: 

  • Select Sub-district - Select the sub-district for which you want to run the report.

  • Select Multiple Schools – Select the schools for which you want to run the report. Includes all student records associated with the selected schools that meet the selection criteria.

  • All Schools in selected sub-district (default) – Run the report for all schools in the selected sub-district. Includes all student records on the PowerSchool server that meet the selection criteria.

If run at the school level, the report includes all records associated with the current school that meet the selection criteria. To change the current school, click School at the top of the page and choose the appropriate school from the list.

Students to Include

Select one of the following:

  • The Selected [number] Students Only – Run the report for students in the current selection.

  • All Students – Run the report for all students in the current school or district that meet the selection criteria.

Note: If running the report for a single student, or group of students, select the students prior to running report.

Select School Year

From the pop-up menu, choose the year for which the report should be run.

Field Delimiter

Select the field delimiter for the extract file.

Include Header Labels in output file?

Choose Yes or No to indicate whether to include column headings in the extract file. Including column headers provides a heading for each type of data extracted in the report.

Snapshot Date

To ensure that only active students as of a certain date are included in the report output, enter an in-session snapshot date within the school year selected.

School Year Date

A single date indicating the whole school year; the June 30 at the end of the standard school year is used to designate a school year. Thus, the 2017-2018 school year would be indicated by 2018-06-30.

Student ID

The PAsecureID assigned to the student. This field is extracted from Start Page > Student > State/Province - PA > PA SecureID.

Reporting Date
