This view captures the discipline action as published in the disciplineActions resource within the Student Discipline category. The layout includes the discipline action, discipline incident reference, and student reference.

Important Note: Starting with the 24-25 school year, Incident Management will be the only supported discipline tracking method for NOVA reporting.

Selection Criteria

Records are published if the following criteria are met:

Incident Management:

  • The student's school is not excluded from state reporting.

  • The student is not excluded from state reporting.

  • The incident record has an incident date that falls between 7/1/YYYY and the current date.

  • The incident has at least one student offender with both a state reportable behavior and action. Only valid PED reportable behavior and action codes should have the State Reportable checkbox checked.

  • Incidents that have the Incident Type value as NM State Reporting^ are published.

Log Entries:

  • The student's school is not excluded from state reporting.

  • The student is not excluded from state reporting.

  • The log record has a Discipline_ActionDate that falls between 7/1/YYYY and the current date.

  • The student offender log entry record must have the following:

    • A valid, PED infraction code ([Log]Discipline_IncidentType):

      • 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46, 51, 52, 53, 54, 55P, 55U, 55D, 56, 57, 61, 62, 63, 64, 70

    • A valid, PED infraction response code ([Log]Discipline_ActionTaken):

      • 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14

    • Note: If the Publish to NOVA? checkbox is checked for the log type, then the log entries of the specified log type are published. If the Publish to NOVA? checkbox is checked for the log subtype, then the log entries of the specified log subtype are published. If the Publish to NOVA? checkbox is not checked for the log type but checked for the log subtype, then the log entries of the specified log subtype are published. 

Resource Output

  • A separate disciplineIncident record is published for each reportable discipline record that occurred within the current year based on the year.

  • The disciplineIncident resource is dependent on the prior publishing of the following resources: students, studentSchoolAssociation.
