NJ State Assessment Registration Report

Introduction

This report is used to generate the New Jersey State Assessment Registration file to send to NJ SMART.

Selection Criteria

Selection criteria determine which database records are used in the report. Refer to selection criteria for analysis of report results when the report does not return the correct records.

Student Selection

  • The student is actively enrolled into a valid ELA or math class on the Report Snapshot Date OR the student has a test code override populated in Student Selection > State/Province - NJ > NJSLA

  • The student is included in State Reporting and is included in NJ SMART extracts.

  • The student does not have an Exit Date before an Entry Date.

Description

Schools to Include

Choose one of the following:

  • Current School Only to include all student records associated with the current school meets the selection criteria. To change the current school, click the School link at the top of the page and choose the appropriate school from the list.

  • All Schools to include all student records on the PowerSchool server that meet the selection criteria.

Students to Include

The default option is All Students. Select this option to begin the report query with all students.

Choose The Selected [number] Students Only option to begin the report query with the currently selected students only.

Report Snapshot Date

Enter the date used to extract the student enrollment records. Students are included in the extract if their current enrollment date matches the snapshot date.

ELA/Math Schedule Block

Choose one of the following from the pop-up menu:

  • All - Run the report for the full school year. This option is the default.

  • Fall - Run the report for only the fall block.

  • Spring- Run the report for only the spring block.

  • NJ- ACCESS for ELLs or DLM Spring Administration

Default Test Format

Choose either Paper or Online from the pop-up menu to indicate the default test format.

ELA/Math Output Assessment Session Location in File as Blank

Choose Yes or No from the pop-up menu. If Yes is selected, the Session Location field will be blank for all students.

Output Students DCID in File

Choose Yes or No from the pop-up menu.

Note: Do not submit to PARCC/NJ SMART with DCID in file.

Include Students with Unassigned SIDs

Choose Yes or No from the pop-up menu. If Yes is selected, the report will include students without a defined ID.

Include Non Public Students

Choose Yes or No from the pop-up menu. If Yes is selected, the report will include non-public students.

This field value is extracted from the PreID ASK/ACCESS tab, found at Student Selection > State/Province – New Jersey > PreID ASK/ACCESS.

State Assessment Accountable School

The county and district responsible for specific state assessment services and/or instruction of the student.

This field value is extracted from the NJS PreID tab, Student Selection > State/Province – New Jersey > NJS PreID. If this field is blank on the NJS PreID tab, the Alternate School Code is extracted. If the Alternate School Code field is blank, the school code is extracted.
