NJ SLA-S (Student Learning Assessment Science)

Introduction

This report is used to generate the registration form to be uploaded to PearsonAccess Next for the NJ SLA-S (New Jersey Student Learning Assessment - Science).

Required Data Setup

  • Review Student Setup and confirm that all required student information has been entered.

  • Ensure all state fields have been migrated.

Selection Criteria

Selection criteria determine which database records are used in the report. Refer to selection criteria for analysis of report results when the report does not return the correct records.

Student Selection

  • The student must not be excluded from state reporting.

  • The student must be actively enrolled on the report snapshot date.

  • The student must be included in NJ SMART extracts.

  • The student must not have an exit date before an entry date.

Field

Description

Schools to Include

Choose one of the following:

  • Current School Only to include all student records associated with the current school meets the selection criteria. To change the current school, click the School link at the top of the page and choose the appropriate school from the list.

  • All Schools to include all student records on the PowerSchool server that meet the selection criteria.

Current Selection Students

Indicate which students to include in the report by selecting one of the following options:

  • The Selected [number] Students Only – Run the report for students in the current selection.

  • All Students – Run the report for all students in the current school or district that meet the selection criteria.

Note: If running the report for a single student or group of students, select the students prior to running report.

Grade Level (SLA: 5, 8, 11)

Select the checkbox next to the grade level to include in the report. For SLA reporting, select only 5, 8, and/or 11.

Report Snapshot Date

Enter the date used to extract the student enrollment records. Students are included in the extract if their current enrollment date matches the snapshot date.

Default Test Format

Choose whether the test will be given in a Paper or Online format.

Output Students DCID in File

Choose Yes or No from the pop-up menu.

Note: Do not submit to PARCC/NJ SMART with DCID in file.

Include Students with Unassigned SIDs

Choose Yes or No from the pop-up menu. If Yes is selected, the report will include students without a defined ID.

Include Non Public Students

Choose Yes or No from the pop-up menu. If Yes is selected, the report will include non-public students.

Test Administration

Choose one of the following from the pop-up menu:

  • Blank

  • Fall (FA) - Fall Block (High School ELA and Math assessments only)

  • Spring (SP) - Spring Administration (All ELA, Math, and Science assessments)

  • Summer (SU) - Summer Administration (High School ELA and Math assessments only)

Scheduling

Choose one of the following:

  • Run Now – Default. The report runs immediately.

  • Schedule – Choose a start date and time. Select whether to Run Once or set the report to automatically Repeat on a Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Yearly basis.
