NJ Ethnicity and Race Code Migration (Discontinued)

Introduction

Use this report to validate the state race code setup, and to migrate student Ethnicity and Race Code data from the NJ custom fields on the SID page to the Federal Race and Ethnicity fields on the Demographics page.

Migration Setup

For data to be migrated successfully, the value in the Ethnicity field "Is the student Hispanic or Latino?" on the Demographics page and on the SID page must match one of the following combinations:

Note: If "Is the student Hispanic or Latino?" is Yes on the Demographics page but No on the SID page, the data will not be migrated.

Required Data Setup

NJ Federal Race and Ethnicity pages and fields must be set up at the district before running the Migration Report. Review setup instructions for NJ Federal Ethnicity and Race.
The District Federal Race Codes must be set up. Review District Setup for further information.

Note: If data is not set up correctly, an error message appears on the report input page, with instructions for correcting the setup.

Description

Schools to Include*

Choose one of the following:

Current School Only – Includes all student records associated with the current school that meet the selection criteria. To change the current school, click School at the top of the page and choose the appropriate school from the list.
All Schools – Includes all student records on the PowerSchool server that meet the selection criteria.

Report Output

Each of the fields displayed in the output of the report are described below. See Understanding the Report Output Table for a definition of each column in the table.

Ethnicity Migration Status	A message that indicates whether the value in the Ethnicity field "Is the student Hispanic or Latino?" was successfully migrated from the SID page to the Demographics page. If the data migrated successfully, the following message is displayed: Ethnicity migrated successfully from SID Page to Demographics Page. If the data did not migrate successful, the following message is displayed: Ethnicity not migrated successfully from SID Page to Demographics Page. Data mismatch on SID Page vs Demographics Page. Please fix the data mismatch and run the Migration Report again. An unsuccessful migration indicates that the Ethnicity field "Is the student Hispanic or Latino?" on the Demographics page is set to Yes, but the Ethnicity field on the SID page is set to No. Correct the Ethnicity field data and rerun the report.	When [Students]Fedethnicity =1 (Y) and [Students]NJ_RaceHispanic =N, then 'Ethnicity not migrated successfully from SID Page to Demographics Page. Data mismatch on SID Page vs Demographics Page. RaceCode Migration Status	A message that indicates whether Race Codes were successfully migrated from the SID page to the Demographics page. If the data was migrated was successfully, the following message is displayed: Race migrated <RaceCodeName> successfully from SID Page to Demographics Page If the data did not migrate successfully, the following message is displayed: Race not migrated successfully from SID Page to Demographics Page. Data mismatch on SID Page vs Demographics Page. Please fix the data mismatch and run the Migration Report again. An unsuccessful migration indicates that Race Codes are already selected on the Demographics page.
