Introduction

Required Setup

The report lists all suspensions and expulsions recorded in Incident Management with valid action codes. It includes data from the prior year and the date range selected when running the report. The report is available at school and district level. The report is available in .xlsx format with separate sheets for suspension and expulsion. The report is ordered by Division Code, School code ASC, Student Legal Last Name Asc, Student Legal First name Asc, Student Legal Middle name Asc, and Start date As.

The Behavior Codes and Action Codes that have the state Reportable flag selected are considered.

Behavior Codes

Behavior Codes that can lead to suspension and/or expulsion must be set up.

Only Behavior Codes where the state Reportable flag selected are considered

Action Codes

The valid Action codes are one of these codes: In-School Suspension (ISS), Out of School Suspension (OSS), or Expulsion (EXP).Only records where the state Reportable flag is selected are considered

Duration Codes

At least one duration code must be defined for Days. For example, Days, School Days, Consecutive School Days, etc.
State Aggregate Report Code must be set to Days.
Only Duration Codes where the state Reportable flag selected are considered.

Selection Criteria

The State Reportable flag must be selected.
The student is not excluded from state reporting.
Actions with State Aggregate Report Code ISS and OSS are reported in the suspension sheet.
Actions with State Aggregate Report Code EXP are reported in the Expulsion sheet.
The Action Start Date is on or after the selected report start date and on or before the report end date.

Reporting Rules

If the action is associated with a behavior:
The action is reported, and the behavior code is reported as the reason.
If the action is associated with the student (not a specific behavior):
The action is reported, and all behavior codes associated with the student are reported as the reason, separated by commas.

Field	Description
Select Schools	If run at the district level, choose one of the following: Select Multiple Schools – Select schools to include in the report. To select a single school, click that school. To select multiple schools, use Ctrl+Click and select each school to be included. Closed schools and schools that are excluded from reporting are not included. All Schools – Run the report for the entire district. If run at the school level, the report includes all records associated with the current school that meet the selection criteria. To change the current school, click School at the top of the page and choose the appropriate school from the list.
Select Students	Indicate which students to include in the report by selecting one of the following options: The selected [number] students only – Run the report for selected students only. All students – Run the report for all students in the current school or district who meet the selection criteria. Note: If running the report for a single student or a group of students, select the students prior to running report.
Report Start Date	Choose the start date for the report. School level: Defaults to the previous year's school start date. District office: Defaults to the previous year's min (start date) of all schools that are not closed or excluded from reporting.
Report End Date	Choose the end date for the reporting period. School level: Defaults to the previous year's school end date. District office: Defaults to the previous year's Max (end date) of all schools that are not closed or exclude from reporting.
