Configuring DEX for SIMS

Configuring DEX for SIMS is fully automated and requires user intervention for these steps:

1. Under the Plugin Management Configuration screen, enable the PowerSchool Data Exchange (DEX) plugin.

   1. Please note that this step is valid only for school year 2026-2027

   2. Navigate to System Management ->Server ->Plugin Configuration->Data Exchange → Plugin Profile Configuration

   3. Disable the old SIF profile

   4. Disable the pilot profile.

   5. Only Enabled Profile for school year 2026-2027 should be ‘MA 2026-2027’

2. Under the General Setup of DEX,

   • Enter the Data Exchange URL.
     https://ma-prod.hostedzone.com/svcs/live/  

   • Enter the Authentication URL.
     https://ma-prod.hostedzone.com/svcs/live/  

   • The 2026-2027 school year is checked.

   • In Service Options, Data Changes (checked), Publish (checked).

   • Save the page & turn the system on.

   • Verify that only the desired profile remains active.

3. Configure Credentials

   • Open Configure.

   • Enable LEA.

   • Enter below details from the Massachusetts State Department of Education.

     • Environment

     • Authentication Key

     • Secret

   • Click Test Connection. The “Test Successful” message appears in the pop-up window if the connection is successful.

   • Wait for a successful test result.

   • Save configuration.

   • Close the configuration window.

   • Save again from the General Setup page.

   • Note: You must save two times for the configuration to be set up correctly.

4. Publish Organization Data

   • Open the Data Exchange dashboard.

   • Select Run Now next to Organization Info.

   • Choose Publish Changes & Submit.

   • Monitor status until publishing succeeds.

5. Publish Dependencies

   • Select Run Now again.

   • Choose Publish Dependencies & Submit.

   • Monitor processing and dependency completion.

6. Publish Remaining Data

7. • After the Organization data publishing completes, select Run All.

   • Leave Publish Changes selected.

   • Submit.

   • Allow the dashboard to process queued items.

   • Monitor refresh cycles until publishing activity stabilizes.
