SIS - Event Collection System

Introduction

This report collects discipline incident information for non-student participants (staff, etc.) and creates an extract file for submission to the state, which includes SIS Event (007), SIS Perpetrator (091), and SIS Victim (093) records.

Selection Criteria

Selection criteria determine which database records are used in the report. Refer to selection criteria for analysis when the report does not return the correct records.

Incident Selection

The report selects incidents that meet the following criteria:

  • The incident must be associated with the Incident Type “LA State Reporting”.
  • The incident must have an Offender defined, even if the perpetrator is unknown (such as in the case of graffiti).
  • The incident must occur within the report date range.

Note: Incidents marked as Local Reporting are included in the events upload file but do not extract on the report.

Use

If run at the district level, choose one of the following from the pop-up menu:

  • Default – District Wide. Includes all records on the PowerSchool server that meet selection criteria.
  • Current School Only – Includes all records associated with the current school that meet the selection criteria.
  • District Wide – Includes all records on the PowerSchool server that meet the selection criteria.

If run at the school level, the report includes all records associated with the current school that meet the selection criteria. To change the current school, click School at the top of the page and choose the appropriate school from the list.

Select District

(Optional) If this option appears, select the District for which to run the report.

Processing Options

Choose a time to run the report from the pop-up menu:

  • In Background Now (Recommended) – Execute the report immediately in the background.
  • ASAP – Execute the report in the order it is received in the Report Queue.
  • At Night – Execute the report during the next evening.
  • On Weekend – Execute the report during the next weekend.
  • On Specific Time – Execute the report on the date and time specified.

Specific Date/Time

Enter a date using the format mm/dd/yyyyor mm-dd-yyyyin order to run the report on a specific day. The incorrect format displays an alert and the date field is submitted as a blank entry.

Use the pop-up menus to schedule the report to be run at a specific hour and minute.

Example: 7/29/2008 @ 10 AM : 05.

Start Date

Enter the start date for the report date range.

End Date

Enter the end date for the report date range.

Run in audit mode with comma delimited format (This cannot be submitted to the State)

Select the checkbox to produce the output in a comma-delimited format that can be easily verified in a spreadsheet application such as Excel. The state will not accept this format, so run the report without audit mode when you are finished verifying data.

Report Output – Discipline Event Record (007)

Primary Reason Code

The most serious offense associated with the incident. In Incident Management, this is a Behavior code.

To indicate the most serious offense, select the Primary Behavior checkbox when adding the behavior to the incident.

Bullying Code
