KIDS Collection TASC

Teacher and Student Course

The TASC extract is used to collect a teacher and student connection for use in creating rosters in other applications, i.e., K-FIT, KITE, etc.   The Kansas Collection TASC report will be used to submit data elements, based on the TASC collection cycle, to the Kansas Department of Education (KSDE) Kansas Individual Data on Students (KIDS) system. The TASC data collection focuses on providing links between the courses students take during the school year and the educators teaching the courses.

Selection Criteria

Exclude students from this report by setting the student's Exclude From State Reporting flag located on the State/Province - KS page. This extract replaces the STCO roster.

  • When running the TASC report the State Course Codes must be populated and it must be one of the following:

'01','02','51','52','80','81','82

(The report only pulls English and Math based on the requirements)

Report Output

This report is published if:

  • The student’s grade level is 0 through 12

  • The student's grade level is less than 0 or greater than 12, and the grade level override has IT, PR, or UG. If not, the student's grade level is extracted.

Each field in the report output is described below. See Understanding the Report Output Table for a definition of each column in the table.

Note: PowerSchool checks for [S_KS_STU_Demographic_X]Legal_First_Name, [S_KS_STU_Demographic_X]Legal_Last_Name, and [S_KS_STU_Demographic_X]Legal_Middle_Name to include in report output. If ALL three fields are blank then it checks for [STUDENTS]First_Name, [STUDENTS]Last_Name, and STUDENTS.Middle_Name to include in report output.
