Secondary Area of Exceptionality (PAE2)

The value selected for “Special Education Program Secondary Area,” the third field on the Georgia Special Education Information student page. This value is used to assign a program code to override the PAE.

Part Time Indicator

The value selected for "Student has less than 6 course segments" on the Georgia State Information FTE Segment Information page. Check this box when a student does not attend full time, when only current course enrollments should get program codes and any remaining segments should be set to Non-Funded (O). An example is a 4-year-old receiving speech services for one segment, therefore has one course enrollment, and the desired Program Code output is 3OOOOO.

Middle School Indicator

The value selected for “Middle School Indicator (If Yes, the school with generate ‘H’ segments)” on the Edit School page at the district level.

This indicator is displayed if selected for the school associated with the student record being processed. The report references the SchoolID field associated with the student’s record in either the Students or ReEnrollments tables.

Course Enrollments

For each of the student’s course enrollments (stored in the CC table), the report references the related section record and reports the internal ID for the section.

The course enrollment record must satisfy the following criteria for the section ID to be reported:

  • The student’s course enrollment Entry Date must occur before “This Year's FTE date”, entered at report runtime.
  • The student’s course enrollment Exit Date must occur after “This Year’s FTE date”, entered at report runtime.
  • The course number associated with the course enrollment must not start with 00.
  • The course must not have the “Exclude Course from State Reporting” box checked on the Edit Course page.

Multiple-Period Expressions: When the Refresh FTE Segments report is run with the “Expand Multiple-Period Expressions” box unchecked each course enrollment for a student generates one Program Code.

When “Expand Multiple-Period Expressions” is checked it indicates to the report to review the school’s Bell Schedule to determine the correct quantity of periods contained within a multiple-period course enrollment and to generate that number of Program Codes for each course enrollment. For example, expression 1-3(A) may represent a course enrollment that covers 3 periods of the school day and the student will receive 3 Program Codes for that one course.

Block Schedule: When the Refresh FTE Segments report is run with “This school has a Block Schedule set to No, the report includes course enrollments which meet on the date entered for “This Year's FTE date.”

When “This school has a Block Schedule” is set to Yes, the report includes course enrollments which meet on the date entered for “This Year’s FTE date” and two segments from either the previous in-session school day or the next in-session school day, depending if the report is run for cycle 1 or cycle 3.
