Career Technology Studies (CTS) Validation Report (Obsolete)

This report is replaced by the Special Function Manage SCM/CTS Validations.

Introduction

This report provides validations for courses in the Career Technology Studies (CTS) curriculum while also updating the Completion and Funding Status of an enrollment, excluding manually entered marks. It is recommended to validate and correct CTS data after storing grades to report marks to the Department of Education.

CTS curriculum is organized into 22 strands. Each strand represents a group of courses designed to support broad career and occupational opportunities. Courses are the building blocks for each strand defining what students are expected to know and be able to perform.

CTS Process Considerations

Set up the following processes for teachers to assist in tracking CTS enrollments and completions.

Notify the office of enrollments into each of the modules.
Notify the office of drops and early completion to ensure completion date is tracked correctly.
If necessary, import grades for drops and early completion into stored grades table.
Verify final grades for current and dropped students using an export or the Section Readiness Report.
Create a stored grade record for drops and early completions.

Note: Teachers must verify final grades prior to running the Permanently Store Grades process. If it is determined that dropped classes will be excluded from the permanently store grade process, then the stored grades for drops and early completions need be created either individually when the student drops the class or via an export/import process.

Report Input

Field	Description
Students to Include	Indicate which students to include in the report by selecting one of the following options: The selected [number] students only – Run the report for students in the current selection. All students – Run the report for all students in the current school or district that meet the selection criteria. Note: If running the report for a single student, or group of students, select the students prior to running report.
Store Code from Final Grades Setup	Choose the store code from the popup menu. Ensure that you select a Store Code value for which grades have been stored in the Stored Grades table.
Term	Choose the term from the popup menu. By default, the full year term is processed.
Run for Summer School	Select the checkbox to run report for summer school.
Run Update Process	Select this checkbox to apply the business rules that set the Course Completion Status Code and the Course Completion Funding for CTS modules. Refer to the CTS Validation Messages when the Update Process is checked and not checked.
