Student SSID Bulk Upload File

Introduction

This action will take all the students without an assigned State Student ID (SSID) from PowerSchool and upload the files to CEDARS to assign the SSID. Once CEDARS assigns the new SSID, the student files may be imported back into PowerSchool by following the proceeding import instructions.

Selection Criteria

Selection criteria determine which database records are used in the report. Refer to selection criteria for analysis of report results when the report does not return the correct records.

Student Selection

  • All students without an assigned State Student ID ([Students]State_StudentNumber).

Description

Select Schools

Choose one of the following from the pop-up menu:

  • Current School Only – Includes all student records associated with the current school that meet the selection criteria. To change the current school, click the School link at the top of the page and choose the appropriate school from the list.
  • District Wide (default) – Includes all student records on the PowerSchool server that meet the selection criteria.

Note: The District Wide option is only available when running the report from the District Office.

Current Selection Students

Indicate which students to include in the report by selecting one of the following options:

  • The Selected [number] Students Only – run the report for students in the current selection.
  • All Students (default) – run the report for all students in the current school or district that meet the selection criteria.
    Note: If running the report for a single student, or group of students, select the students prior to running the report.

Report Start Date (MM/DD/YY)

Enter the start date of the report.

Report End Date (MM/DD/YY)

Enter the ending date of the report.

Report Output

Each of the fields displayed in the output of the report are described below. SeeUnderstanding the Report Output Table for a definition of each column in the table.

The student identifier assigned by the district to the student. It is used in matching district data with records in CEDARS.

LastName

The legal last name of the student.

The legal first name of the student.

MiddleName

The legal middle name(s) of the student.

BirthDate

The student’s date of birth.

Gender

The student’s gender.

The date on which the student began school in the district.

ServingSchool

A four-digit code assigned to the school by OSPI.

The grade level in which the student is enrolled.

If the student’s grade level is less than 0, then PK is reported.

If the student’s grade level is 0, then the report references the Kindergarten Program field and reports either K1 or K2.
